I'm camped here at the weir with my friends, and it's a lovely spot. Tomorrow we'll go into Gayndah and have a look around. Lot's of oranges growing here. In fact, there's an orchard right next to where we're camped. Tempted to jump the fence, but it may be electric!
Unbelievable weather all over Aus at the moment. So cold so far up north, there is no where to go to keep warm. Even the ash cloud is on its way around again.
it wasnt electrified this time last year OOPS maybe i shouldnt say that.
if your heading north give Wuruma damn some thought
Gday...
I had noticed Wuruma Dam the other night in Camps 5 when trying to figure out my next 'move'.... from what I can see on Google Satellite it seems like a nice open area well off the roads.
I assume you have stayed there. Would appreciate your opinion.
Cheers
John

John, I have written here in my book some notes from one of the other nomads on this site. I didn't write down who it was. They said Wuruma Dam, Between Eisvold and Monto, further on from Gayndah. Flush toilets on top of the hill. Some drinking water supplied top of the hill or administration centre. Shelters with seats and tables provided. No time limit. Excellent Free camp. Good Butcher at Eisvold. Sorry, thats all I wrote down, hope that helps you make a choice, I definitely would be trying it out.
Thanks HW .... at Beerwah at the moment ... but next month will be back 'wandering' and may re-trace some of my footsteps ... back through Gayndah and then northward and inland.
Wuruma Dam was a spot that seemed to be good for a few days of 'rejuvenation' after my harvesting work.
Cheers
John

I have stayed there and all Happy says is true.Unfortunately when we were there thr dam was only at 8% but i believe now it has plenty of water. Its out of the way but well worth the trip in. If your lucky enough to get a site near a shelter you will find a level spot for the van.
