I'm inspired by the generosity and kindness shown towards a fellow nomad, albeit a total stranger, in trouble. I'm glad we can call each other "friends", despite the fact most of us have never met each other. Such support cannot be measured by $ value. The older we get the more we remember how we started out, and where we are now, and how we got here. One of my travel quotes is, "For every down there's an up". This is one of those "ups". Thanks for the reinforcement of my faith in human nature.

I feel part of a big family here and I've never met any of you. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.
I've watched and observed for a few months now, and am learning so much. It's just fuelling the desire to quit work and get on the road - can't wait. Just myself, hubby and dog. (and maybe my disabled son - I know he'd love it) 2013 hurry up!!
Karma is a great thing isn't it - what goes around comes around. So happy for Marj
Would love to meet up at a get together sometime in the future.
Hold that thought. I would envisage each state co-ordinating a get together somewhere, sometime. Or a region if distance is a deterrent, which would seem odd for nomads. Anyone in the region/state of get together could join in wherever it is. What do you reckon folks? We don't have to refloat the Titanic, but you can if you want to. But a gathering of a few dozen people over a weekend would be a good thing. Go you good thing!

Some wher in QLD or nsw, such as the Calloipe River free camp would be good. I would go if time , and business lets me.I have met up with a few Gns, and they all semm to be great people, and all have a story or two to tell. it would a good time to test the new(used) campervan.
Yes, would be great to meet up - though there are a few of us who are tentatively planning a bit of a "convoy" down to Echuca at the end of October - Thelma and Louise plus - unknown number??????????????????????????????????

would be awesome to have a catch up :) School holidays would be good for me as I work in a school. Probably not the best time to be on the road though I guess
Hi CG, thats not such a bad idea eh? A meeting in both states or even more if we could organise it. I just missed out on a get together last year in Mudgee region of NSw - that appeared to be awesome from the reports afterwards. We are currently in Julia Creek till October 31. A casual trip to either state from there with a meet-up at end of November sounds good if someone could arrange it all - know anyone CG........???
Anyone can take the bull by the horns. Maybe the GN's can nominate a few places in their own states, and a couple of viable dates. Those able to attend the gathering agree on the venue, then all they have to do is get there and have a good time. This time of the year could be a bit chilly for the southerners who can't get north, but a sunny weekend anywhere is always a good time to meet fellow GN's. They could all camp together or park in a nearby park and do day trips to the chosen site. My van is all set up on site right now, but I do have camping gear for just such a weekend. Surely it can't be that hard. We could pick a venue near the borders of SA, Vic and NSW, that would be Swan Hill, Mildura, Renmark, you get the idea. Your turn folks.
