I wouldn't. But that's my impression of a memory of 07. They've since had 2 floods through the town so who knows how they picked up after that. I stayed at the park closest to town. Oldish but clean, and the owners at the time were very hospitable. They had a bbq and quizz night one night during the week, with great prizes.

I stayed at another park last year, the Norwesta, suited us fine, not flash but clean and cheap. I also heard conflicting reports about Marloo, some good some bad, apparently it is very strictly run which may suit some, others not. Best to make your own opinion, try it and see. Another member here stayed at the Wintersun (Top Tourist) and said it was good too, but again have heard conflicting reports. I went to visit them but it seemed ok.
A lot of older West Aussies head to Carnarvon to wait out the winter, so you may need to book in advance. I think the floods have receded up there now so all should be ok, but best to check with the tourist bureau online.
Welcome to the forum!

Welcome too Oyster, thanks for the feedback, sounds great, I believe you need to book well in advance there too is that correct? We may also go up that way probably next year.

Thank you everybody for your welcome and feedback.
We stayed at the wintersun last year and had a great time met some lovely people. this year they have put up there prices by $60 per week a bit much we thought.
Welcome Marlex and Oyster. Nice to see you here. I hope you enjoy your stay. My friends in Carnarvon who live in another park in a bussay it's okay and secure. It's in a good position in relation to some shops and they have a bbq area. The town has recovered from both floods, and tomorrow they're launching the new Sea Rescue vessel. Those of you in the region should go along and help the town celebrate, and maybe get a free ride around the local waterways.
