SWMBO and my self are looking at bringing car and van over to main land and doing t trip from Mel to Bega via lakes Entrance then overland to Shep and back to Mel to get ferry
what would be the best time of year for a trip ,last trip we did over there, was last june along the great ocean road, and it was a lovely trip and love the sights the weather was cold and raining ,so this year sitting in front of fire lol
Any one help with what to look at things not to miss or do
Definately summer. I go down there from NQ every year to get away from the wet season. I love Tathra, Narooma, Beermagui, and the hinterland. If you don,t mind a few dirt roads, go to Botangabee bay, in the Green cape national park. Great bush camping, and good fishing.
The Shepparton area is really nice in spring, as is the Bega Valley, but I dont know about the Victorian coast at that time of year, could be a tad windy. The sea-water is warmer for swimming along the Southern NSW/Vic coast after the Christmas holidays till about May.
In the Bega area, my favourite place is Tathra or Bermagui, and dont miss Eden either. Theres oysters farming in Pambula, cheese factory in Bega, lots of arty places everywhere.
Whenever you go, enjoy! And give Tathra my love!
