We have tested out about three different kinds of mirrors since we have been on the road Havago and we are sporting the Aussie truck variety at the moment.

They have been on for over 12 months now and we couldn't be happier with them

From memory we picked them up from Repco in Cobar when they were having a special and cost then about $140 for the pair. Normally they are about that much each so we consider we got a good deal.

We have never had a problem with the window being scratched or the paint on the doors. I think the main thing is to have them reasonably tight so that they don't move around and rub.

The extra rear view these types offers suits us.

Hi Ma. Thank you for your prompt reply. We are looking at the Aussie Truck Mirrors and have came across a new pair for $90:00 each, free delivery so this doesn't look too bad. They seem to have more good reports than bad. We think we might give them a go. Thanks again Havago.

I've used a lot of differnt mirrors over the years.
Have now been using Aussie Truck Mirrors for about 7 years and couldn't be happier.

DEfinitely not the clip on ones - too much movement. I have a variant of the Aussie Truck Mirrors and find them great.

I drive a Nissan Pathfinder with weather shields on both sides and found to fit anything that needed to fit into the window frame I need to sit in the back seat to see anything behind me. Found myself stuck with clip on mirrors. Not with a pinch of Nannie Goat Poo would like something better anyone got any ideas, besides changing vehicles

We have double weather shields on our Ranger too but fortunately even though they are mounted back a tad from where they were intended to be mounted we can still see out of them with no trouble.

We have tried all the various brands of clip on mirrors over the years and found the Aussie Truck mirrors were the best. Yes we have the large weather shields and can somewhat relate to what you say, though agree with Ma and just had to turn my head a bit more.

However by far the best side mirrors for around town and towing, though not cheap (though cheaper than changing vehicles), are the Clearview mirrors http://www.clearviewmirrors.com.au/, and they will overcome your weather shield problem. Seems they are available for Pathfinders.

They just slide out for towing then push in for around town. No more removing/replacing, storing, adjusting straps, etc, plus the main body of the mirrors are adjustable if needed from the driving position. The vision down the sides of the vehicle is far better than the vehicle standard mirrors and we find better than the Aussie Truck mirrors when the van is attached.

Just a happy customer.

Hi All, Ended up we're buying a pair of New Aussie Truck Mirrors from W.A. for $90:00 each delivered to Maitland so now we are patiently awaiting their arrival. Havago.

We couldnt recommend the Clearview mirrors highly enough. No messing about with mirrors every time you hitch up/unhitch, and they fold in if, like us, your old-fashioned garage is too narrow. (Also helpful in supermarket car-parks) Mr D just loves them!

What I personally love is that there is only one mirror to look into, not two, while you are driving. I dont tow very often, and used to get confused looking into the normal mirrors instead of the extended ones.
