GOODBYE DOUGIE

Well, it seems we have lost yet another valued member of our forum.

I had an email from Doug this afternoon and he has decided, everything considered, to delete his account with the grey nomads.

He will be missed as his informative posts will also be missed.

Thank you Doug for being here.

I'm not going anywhere, yet, H.   I'll stick around and keep an eye on you lot for a while I think.  Turn my back and you blokes get up to all sorts of mischief.......

He IS an all round good guy TB.  He would rather do you a good turn than a bad one and I have known him to help people when he need not have done so and got no thanks in return, even though he wasn't looking for them.

He has given all of us some very worthwhile information over the time he has been here and a lot of common sense approach to many different problems.

Goodbye Doug,

Respect your decision, but remember the door is always open, perhaps after a spell you may decide to come back again. Doesn't need to be permanent......smile

I feel sad too, Dougie sounded like a cool bloke and I was looking forward to meeting him when I got up there next winter. Hope he wasn't offended by anything on here that made him decide to delete his account. That would be a shame. Bye Dougie but please come back.

Hey Dougie, like the others i felt great disappointment, when i read Ma's post.
We have lost some really good members over the years, due to misunderstandings or misinterpretations, and i count you as one of them.
Hope to see you back on here.

Johnw

If not, all the best to a true blue mate.

Hi Ma and Blue, thanks for your post; it's a real shame to lose valuable members of this forum, people like Doug who not only offer good sensible advice to those seeking information.......but physically offering free use of his property to fellow GN's...and likewise I trust his loss is not down to something to do with our forum.

All the best Doug and we trust that we can enjoy your presence here again before too long.

cheers

ozi2

I am sure Doug will still make his property at Chinchilla available to any of us who care to go there.   It was and still is his intention to provide a safe and tranquil free camp to anyone.

Should any of you want to go and avail yourselves of Doug's most generous offer just remember that you must be TOTALLY self sufficient as there is no power or water (plenty of outlets in the town for drinking water).

Call into the Information Office on the highway and tell them you want to go to Dougie's place and they will give you directions.  Alternately PM me and I will help you also.
