Heading South

Greetings

Have been staying at fletcher creek, then theresa creek and currently at bedford weir (blackwater).

Our intended route is taking us to Neville Hewitt weir (baralaba)   Dawson River (moura) and Wuruma Dam (Eidsvold)

Just hoping someone can advise wht the fishing and redclaw are like at these sites and maybe offer an alternative to somewhere near that they have been to lately.

We have ollie the golden retreiver so some sites are not accesable to us.

We are gravitating between redclaw (dams and weirs) and mudcrabs (Coastal and Creek)

WE HAVE ABOUT 7 WEEKS BEFORE  A DOCTORS APPT IN bRISBANE THEN WE ARE HEADING DOWN TO NSW UNTIL CHRISTMAS. ANYINFORMATION ABOUT LIKELY FREE OR CHEAP CAMPING WITH FISHING AVAILIBLE WOULD BE APPRECIATED

PETE ROSE AND OLLIE

If you are going to do the coast road down through NSW P & R keep in mind a place called Moruya.  Its about 2 hours south of Nowra.  Has flush loos, cold showers and drinking water, supply your own power.

If you are on a pension it is $10pn or $60pw.

Plenty of fishing either off the breakwall, off the beach or in the river.

It is a bush camp opposite the Moruya Airport, but don't let that bother you there are only 4 flights per day.

Turn left just BEFORE you go over the bridge into Moruya and follow that for about 4klms and turn right into the airport road and it's 1klm up the road.

It is 20ks south of Bateman's Bay.

Great spot, we go there regularly if we can't manage a longer trip.

Oh, and pet friendly.

I stopped at Claude Wharton Weir near Gayndah in mid June. It's quite small, but okay.

Ceratodus is to the north, right next to the river. It's a big park with toilets.

We have stayed at Wuruma dam and it is excellent, it was only 16% full then but now is 100%. There are no redclaw there but there is good Barra fishing. Sorry if this has been posted a bit late for you but we have been up north for 10 weeks, it may help someone else..
