Well, telstra again.I had reason to call them just recently to check up on a couple of matters.
I found out that they started some new deals earlier this year, which they dont pass onto you unless we can find out about them on the grape vine a chase them up.
The result was that if you have two or more services on the one account you can save on your internett plan. I just saved $20 per month, better in my pocket than theirs.
The deal is you have recontract for two years for the internett, as I still had one year to go it only meant extending by one year.

Its a good one isn't it justcruisin? Ive been contracted into it for a couple of years now. Sure brings the total price down.
Another one they might not tell you, If you go into renew your mobile phone contract and use your existing phone, the new contract gives you free txts, you don't pay for any txt at all in the new contract. I got that one too.
Jeez, where do we, the customer, find out about these things? I've never had any promo information or advice about these services, and I've been a Telstra mobile customer for more than 10 years. I'm not game to go to a Telstra shop because they just spout their scripted promo spiel and I walk out even more confused than before. Where do I find this stuff? I'd appreciate some clues.

It was actually the Telstra shop who told me CG. I called in to see how long was left on my contract and she told me what was available to me. Seeing my mobile was in good condition and I didn't need a new one she could offer me this new deal with all free txt. Then I saw it advertised on TV a couple of weeks later. The discounts for having the 3 in 1 account, I think Telstra told me that one over the phone when I rang with a query.
You need to ask them what discounts are available to you. I got a 7% discount with a power provider and a 4 % discount with my gas provider the same way. Signed up for 2 years contract was all I had to do for the discounts.
we just ditched the telstra home phone after 40 years, now have an amaysim sim card in our mobile, saving about $30 a month on rental alone, calls with amaysim are 15c a min and no flag fall, started by putting $30 prepaid on the sim card on the 10 June and still have $13 left as of today.
Australians get ripped off by their telcos. There's no money saved just degrees of being ripped. These mobs disgust me and I use every opportunity to express my thoughts when they contact me.

CG< best to call telstra &/or bigpond, which ever you have or both. Its a waste of time going into the shops as they just want to sell you a new product.
I just rang them on a gut feeling that it must be time for a update on what we had, no other info.
Our internett has been on for two yrs, in that time I have reduced the oringinal plan by $10 in one go, second time we increased the allocated usage by tripple at no extra cost.
This time saved another $20 for having the three services on one acc & re contracting .
Make the call, nothing t loose.
