Technically not (quite) Grey Nomads yet, but here we are

I'm Rosie, he's Troy, and before Christmas - health willing, we will be hitting the road in a caravan we are yet to buy.

I'm 40, he is 48, our kids have all left home, and it's time to get out there and do it while we still can.  We'd already be on the road, except for my Uni hmm

Plan is to get a van - 15-18 footer, get 12v and solar panels into it, hook it up to the 4Runner, and awaaaaaay we go.    I can finish Uni on the road thanks to UTAS being great about offering the units via the internet (which will be spotty, but thems the breaks), and we plan to NEVER come back to Tassie - unless one of our kids gets married, then we might think about it.

So that's about it - I really don't know what else I can tell you by way of introduction.  But I am very glad I found you guys, we really will need all the help/advice we can get.

welcome to the forum. It's a great place. I've found you don't have to be retired to be accepted here. Just a good old friendly place.

Hi Rosita, welcome to the family that Cheryl & I have found to be so supportive. We are also from Tassy and currently spending time with kids & grandkids in Melb before heading out on our dream to spend at least 5 to 6 years touring this wonderful land. The support we have received along the way has been wonderful and I can say that you like us are going to love it. It will be great to catch up with you once you get on the road. The preparation is also part of the fun. Take care. Briche

Hi Rosie & Troy,

Like all those before us, welcome to the forum - we certainly have enjoyed the e-company of some great people - have yet to meet any 'on the road'.

At present far from home but in Devonport for the last few days before heading back to 'the other island' we call home.

The weather has not stopped us from doing what we have wanted, have to say that today, it is wet, wet, wet!!!!

Pete & June

PS We are just 9 months into 'living our dream'!!!!

Hi Rosie & Troy and welcome

We are new too. In the process of deciding on the accommodation for the next few years like you are. We are going through the emotions of excitement etc not to forget confusion, but it is also quite scary when you are making such a big change to your lifestyle. From what I have picked up from the veterans on this site. Once you have had a taste and got the bug you just dont want to go home. Age doesnt matter its all about meeting people of like mind with the same dream to spend time visiting as many parts of this great country as possible.

G'day from me as well, I'm only early 40's also, so few years left before I can retire, but just love to get out and about when I can.
