Hi, wanting to know the closest caravan park to Broadmeadows in Newcastle. We want to go up there to watch our son play in his finals of basketball. Hope you can help. cheers Ann

If you stay at Stockton you can always ferry across to town and get a train/bus to Broady. But I reckon The Pines at Belmont is the go, as has been stated, is the best. (if you can get in) Swansea and Blacksmiths have to many midgies.

Love Belmont Pines.
On our previous visit we had one of those western sites (107 in fact) close to the lake that also backed into the hill. Used to have drinkies on the grass in front right on the water. ... Will stay there again as I come home up the coast in October. Will be even better this time as I will have one of the kayaks on board.
Might give Stockton a go too. SWMBO can take the ferry over to do some shopping I suppose, while I paddle about.
I work in an office at Broadmeadow (no "s") and if I stand on my tippytoes and crane my neck I can see the basketball stadium.
I'd suggest Belmont. Both Belmont and Stockton are nice places and whilst I haven't stayed in either caravan park, they both look good. The only thing about Stockton is that there are some industries between Broadmeadow and Stockton and if you travel during peak times, there is a fair bit of traffic which could result in a slow trip.
There are very few caravan parks near Newcastle. These two are the closest.
Thank you again for your replies. Unfortunately as I am saying in a cabin this time The Belmont Pines has a minimum 2 night stay!!!!!! Stockton too far away and do't want to ferry or train. I am currebntly checking out other options. cheers Ann
