My concern was that it is so far off the highway and yes I agree, definitely really only suitable for self contained vehicles.

No nothing has changed. It has always been and always will be a 24 hour or overnight free camp. The septic system can't support large numbers of campers long term. It is a temporary site. COLD Showers only. For SELF CONTAINED RV'S only. This is the camp rules sign from the Rec Ground Fence posted by the controlling authority, Fraser Coast Regional Council. If you have any questions telephone them.Bauple Rec Grounds 600 x 900mm.jpg

Gday...

Well that just goes to show you can't believe most of what ya hear or see. I had heard that the Bauple Free-Camp had been there for ages but 'some' of the businesses did not want it to continue. After much petitioning, activism etc by 'other' businesses, Council agreed to re-open the free-camp and produced the flyer I had been given (and posted on this forum).

The area that is 'depicted/described' in the 'Camp Rules' you provided seem to be what had been there before (and during) the locals 'protestations' - prior to the 'change of heart'. However, from your feedback nothing actually progressed and travellers are still being given the short shrift.

Oh well, I guess it will be their loss as the one up the road at Tiaro certainly is popular with travellers and welcomed by the Tiaro businesses.

Cheers

John

Should have told everyone there is a pretty little park about 5 klms south of Bauple.
It is on Bauple Drive east of the highway.
It is called Rossendale Park. It is flat, grassed & quiet, you need to be Fully Self Contained though.

We have been back thru Bauple recently. They have a New RV area. It is much better and in the centre of the small village.

Level all weather area for self contained RV's with a 20 hour limit.

We still prefer Rosendale which is only 5 k down the road and a beautiful quiet lawned flat area.

Still beware shop owners !!!

Some RV friends were refused water after they had spent a small fortune at the shop.
