SHOWGROUNDS I have stopped at

This is a carry on from the other thread here.

I have stayed at
Narrabri (NSW) Good
Kingaroy (Qld) Average for $25 a night
Nebo (Qld) not sure about this one, we lucked into a horse event but Im sure its available
Caboolture very good $100 a week
Mullumbimby. Intended staying here but the show was on it looked ok but stayed at the football ground,

Bellingen, pretty good

Berry. Good spot, a plus is you can catch a train out back for some good day trips.
Warnambool.  Probably the worse we have stayed

Bendigo. very good, even had a free washing machine.

Hay, not too bad.

Parkes, a bit rough but have already booked in for Elvis Festival.

Not a lot but Im sure a lot can be added.

We stayed at Springsure QLD showground on a Saturday night and the noise from two parties went on until 0500 in the morning. The parties were not from campers but we thought one was coming from the footy club and another from a nearby house. Also a good showground is our local Redcliffe Qld showground. I have not stayed there personally but friends stay there often and say it is really good. There are usually quite a lot of vans/buses there and its a short walk (500 metres) to the shops and foreshore.  Redcliffe showground is also pet friendly.  Last known cost was I think $75.00 per week

We have stayed several times at the Kenilworth showground $12 per night for 2 people on a powered site, there a plenty of sites with water, clean amenities and hot showers. Kenilworth is in the hinterland behind the Sunshine Coast. Be sure to check out the Kenilworth cheese factory they make lovely cheeses, yoghurt and even sell the wine to go with the cheese.

I recently visited and photographed the Kingaroy Showgrounds Caravan Park.

Lots of space and seems to be well maintained.

Photos can been seen here.

If you are coming over to Tassie in a caravan DON'T even think of stopping at the showgrounds in Wynyard...............you are not welcome.

Motor homes ONLY.

All the rest of us have to pay site fees at either of the van parks.

Needless to say we didn't stop in Wynyard and carried on the Stanley where we were made very welcome and where we will spend a few days and a few $$$

Wynyard is a dump anyway, don't miss the fish market in Stanley, the freshest fish you will ever get, from memory you can even pick live fish

Yeh! I couldn't afford them either, brought a live fish and he cleaned it for me, cost a bomb but worth it - so fresh

have stayed at the Toowoomba show grounds. found it to be pleasant, lots of space and wildlife. by memory it was $28 a night and up to 1 week at a time stay. I think there was a weekly rate, but I cannot remember sorry. clean toilets and shower block male and females and a dump point. we're a big set-up so the showgrounds were a good spot for us. will stay there again if travelling that way.

North  coast  NSW

Grafton show grounds is very good . A bit primitive ,

There is a dump point on site

Water on site ( a long hose might be handy if there are many other campers there)

Power , yes,   sometimes a long lead is handy,

Close to town  , walking distance,

Fish & chip across the road,

Cost $20   pn  but  caravan and motor home club members get a discount , weekly rate is also cheaper.

Nice grass areas.

Being a show ground there are events held there

however the caretaker tries hard to assist campers , so there is no concerns as a rule when events are in play.
