How Expensive are Pegs?

Did a load of washing this morning then headed out for the day. When we got back in mid-afternoon and went to get the washing off the line, we found that all the shirts that had 3 pegs in them now only had 2 pegs. What sort of person steals someone elses pegs from off their washing?

The type of person you would call a "lowlife", among other things I can't print here!

Did you check the other lines. Probably someone who needed pegs and didn't think each shirt needed 3 pegs, so decided to share your pegs.

We did look at the other washing, but how do you tell which pegs are yours - they all look pretty much the same. John is a robust sort of man, so his shirts in particular tend to sag in the middle with only a peg at either end.

Sounds like somebody was really desperate! no

Tezza's Caravan Park in Mukinbudin is the only one I've ever seen which actually supplies pegs. I noticed people who used them carefully returning them. Isnt that nice!aww

Are you sure Humans are responsible ?   A number of birds will pinch pegs off the line.

I've had it happen here, and my clothes-line is well off the road, not visible to passers-by unless I actually have washing on it.   Pegs have disappeared at times when there was no washing hanging out.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Was it only the blue pegs taken. maybe it was bower birds.

Edited, might have the wrong bird. I mean the one who takes all the blue things and lines their house with them.

That's one of the lowest things I've heard in caravan tales. At least they didn't take your washing, or leave it hanging on the ground.
Most parks sell bags of pegs to unprepared campers.
Sounds like back packers or campers.
It's one of the quirkiest things.

We were in Mortlake Vic recently and they not only supplied the pegs but the soap powder and pre wash as well. Oh and the washing machine and dryer were both free!! And in the bathroom were piles of bathmats ready to use.

I prefer to use Reva pegs which are quite expensive (but they a big solid pegs which don't break easily) I agree it is annoying when others help themselves ( or swap them for their B&G brand!!)

There is a Pegless clothes line on the market.   It's being advertised on TV again the last few days.

Definitely humans and not birds, as it was only the middle peg on each shirt which was missing. At least they didnt take the lot and let our clothes fall to the ground.

Often see washing slung over a line in a caravan park without any pegs, surprise surprise go past an hour or so later and most of it is lying on the ground.

I've e-mailed them Marj.      Were the middle pegs bright Red or Blue ?    The only other thing I can think of, is maybe they thought the shirts would be too creased with the peg-mark in the middle.

  Cheers,

Sheba.

HW, try this site, there is a phone no

http://www.ezyline.com.au/contact-us.html

only one problem with this line, if used in a caravan park, the peg pinchers will take the whole line with your washing attached biggrinbiggrin

Have already been into their site wombat. Was hoping I might be able to get something similiar without having to pay the postage. I'm sure I read on here some time back there was something like it in a shop, but where?

Some of the discount shops have them and I've seen them in the supermarkets like Coles and Woolworths from time to time. Even Bunnings might have them. They're not that rare and unusual.
