We are at Hawker SA, tonight,How is the weather where you all are?
Caught up on a little of the weather report via the phone this morning, & yep, we are getting the very cold gale force winds here as well, we have had them most of the way accross & yesterday was the worst, comming up from the spencer gulf I would suspect the front was 100kls, not a good day in that respect.
Apart from all that all is going ok with us, hope like wise with all of you. We are heading further north tomorrow.
Cheers.

It blew its bum off last night and this morning, but it's eased a little, but the weather man says we should expect more tomorrow. We had good rain with it, and from here it headed east. It was a very intense weather system moving fairly fast. Hard to prepare for. Safe travels.

Had wind gusts up to 96klm yesterday.Richmond nsw. Van parked on a concrete slab along the side of our house, with the stabilisors down, pop top up,and hand brake off. The wind moved the van 2 metres backwards until the stabilisors dug into the grass. Another 5-6 metres and it would have disappeared over a 30metre drop into the paddock below. Think i'll put a bolt gizmo thing and chain into the slab.

Why aren't the wheels chocked? My awning is old a very rotten. I'm expecting to rip and fly any time now. The legs are pegged down and I've also roped it down. The van is on the stands, not the legs, to keep the weight off the wheels and to stop a flat spot. It shudders a little during the strongest gusts, but it doesn't leak. It doesn't leak!!!!! In Cairns I had internal water features during heavy downpours, but a tube of Sikaflex Marine & Auto and some handiwork by yours truly put a stop to that. Just like any house, caravans have maintenance issues all the time. Hang on everyone until this crappy weather passes. It seems we're all copping except northern Qld. The weather men are predicting a wet wet season with several cyclones, so I have a feeling their time will come. Nah nah nah nah nah!

Will be outta here before then CG....long gone.....nah, nah, nah.
I escaped that waiting room in '08, but not after meeting couple of locals. I did enjoy my time on Bribie. Very peaceful lifestyle, the mechanic was a nice guy and the clubs received my donation through the pokies with due grace and gratitude.

Mother in Law is the resident, she is 90 tomorrow, still living in her own home (out every day) almost have to make an appointment to visit as she is so bloody busy AND she still drives everywhere herself.
I am am not worried about her driving (as surprisingly to me) she is still a damn good driver

Good for her Brian. All power to her. If she can maintain her independance by being able to drive and as you say is a good driver then that's what's going to keep her going.
Take away the independance and they seem to go down hill mighty quick.
