Well you know Christine, if Brian was a TRUE friend he would parcel up some of that fudge and send it off to all his friends here on nomads wouldn't he.....

I know I should post it in cooking thread Ma, but due to popular demand I will post it here as well.

2 x 375gr cans sweetened condensed milk

2 cups (449gr) soft brown sugar

250gr chilled BUTTER (not marg) chopped

1/3 cup 80ml. liquid glucose

1/4 cup 60ml golden syrup

Nestles chocolate melts white, dark or milk to taste, I used about 200gr dark

METHOD

Grease and line a 18x36 cm rectangle slice pan with baking paper.

In a heavy based saucepan combine condensed milk, brown sugar, butter, glucose and golden syrup and stir over a low heat (important from now on do not stop stirring)

keep stirring for at least 20 minutes, until mixture turns light brown and starts to thicken well, (I usually stir for about 30 minutes)

stir in chopped chocolate pieces , keep stirring until all chocolate combined.

Pour mixture into lined pan, let cool and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours

Cut into bite size pieces and then eat and get fat YUM!!

My hubby Russ made the most delicious batch of limoncello - we were enjoying a tipple or two of it last night :) Maybe he should do another batch to bring to Greens Lake also :)

My husband is the cook in our house - I did it til the kids left home, now he is cook, and I wash up. I prefer cleaning up to cooking.

Same here Rosie - my hubby loves to cook and I don't - so he cooks, and does a fantastic job of it  biggrin
