have you just come over the Nullabor - you lucky thing. Which way are you headed after Norseman? Someone needs to check up on Mr Excitement, YeoEleven, who is wreaking havoc around Esperance. We certainly don't want a repeat of him and Billeeee allegedly getting arrested in Mannum.
Have you had a good trip? And more important do you have photo's?
I've not done the trip North from Norseman.
The Nullabor has to be one of the best journeys ever - it's different every time.
At Eucla lol its just started raining. Leaving tomorrow for Norseman, heading to Albany meeting friends made on trip, then up to Margaret River to the 4yo grandchild, Bunbury for the 16 yo then Perth for the 19 yo ! LOL with the Bridgetown Blues Festival thrown in. I think you will have to keep YeoEleven in order ! Heaps of pics those whales were from today on the avatar. The guy in charge said "if you had been here two weeks ago there were over 100" lol I saw 5 and that felt pretty special. Stayed there for two hours as the weather was stunning.
I've had such a great trip and seen just the tip of all that is out there, but home is tugging me back for a while. Will be travelling again after February. Short trips in between.
Good to see you have made it back safe and sound Jo, how lucky to catch sight of the whales, you sound like you have had a great time and only just scratched the surface, but that is good as it gives you a reason to go again'
Thanks Pauline, love your avatar! Yuk its only 3.40 here hate the change over in time, want to get going but much too early, no one is moving! I might try and upload a couple of pictures. Don't know how they are going to look, but Uluru in smoke haze, the other two taken from van around the middle of oz.
Gee they really have had a bad time with fires up there, it's funny wherever you go there is always emu's to take photos of, funny animals aren't they. Do you think it was really worth the trip to the rock, we have not been there as yet or Alice.
Emus are easy to tease. Just stand and wave a shirt or towel and they'll come for a closer looke. I saw the white dingo west of Nundroo on Monday when I was escorting a header over to the WA border. When I called into the Nullarbor Roadhouse on the way back the girls were very excited when I told them I'd seen the dingo. I also saw 5 dead wombats on the roadside, and it broke my heart, but that's the way it goes. Apparently the wombat numbers have increased over recent years. There was a time when it was very rare to see any wombats. There are also mice doing the rounds at the Border Village Roadhouse. They were scrambling over the bushes at the front verandah.

Didn't see the dingo, would have loved to. Had one come round the van a lot in Darwin, lol they kept trying to catch her but she was much too clever for them also she wasn't white. I gave the Nullarbor Roadhouse a miss when I saw the petrol price was $2.39 for unleaded. Roadhouses either side were way cheaper.
Thank goodness the mice gave my van a miss this time! they play havoc with my sleep and I suspect if they got a hold in the van would chew the wiring. Always upsets me when I see dead wildlife especially if I am the culprit.
hello i sat on the rock and watched the hundreds of ants from every race on earth walk up and down best entertaiment ever ,from eighty year olds to a boy who waik up the rock
with out using no hands that was his goal.but the best part was sitting on the rock an feeling the energy coming off the rock very spirtual ,i can see why the aboriginals see its greatness
im thinking of a trip for next year, feb/march.. going to adelaide in my little mazda 2 , putting that and myself on the gahn (spell) and go to perth. I have rellies over there, look around the lowere part of WA,ie coastal and then slowely make my way across the nullabore, staying at caravan parks mostly, then back to adelaide, a few days there with family and home.. should be a good trip.. any one been on something similar??

yup thats the Indian Pacific and sounds like a plan. I drove across and back in the Mazda last year to Victoria and surrounds. It's a different experience to the van travelling. I've met a few people doing the car/tent thing and they all were having fun. Cooking the the camp kitchens and talking with others over the table. A good way to travel and meet people.
i wont be going in the van, it will be in my mazda 2, and i might try the indian pacific?? if thats the one??
which is the one from adelaide to perth?
I answered this for you in your query in the Prospector Train thread Milo, but I think with all the worry you've had you must have missed it, see post 6 on this link;
