In Canberra and ready to welcome any visitors. (even the Queen! smile) Floriade is just about finished but Canberra in Spring or Autumn is worth a visit.

Unfortunately not going anywhere till we get some work done on the caravan, the Jayco people are flat out and we have to wait till end of Nov. cry

This is a good idea Jonathon thumbsup.gif,  we have missed people several times cos we didnt know until too late that we were close by. no

In Cairns at present, we were going to head south last week but had a couple of hiccups with Fae's health. Specialist on 28th, doc on 2nd then hopefully we will be off to see the kids in Yeppoon. From there, who knows? or cares for that matter, so long as we are together and out there doing it lol.

That's no good, hope all goes well with doc, but you have the right mindset as long as you are together who cares where.

It's a good trip John .. I did it last year .. A point of interest for you .. when you get up towards Broome about that time, and you're considering whether or not the 'big-wet' is over before continuing ..

Have a look around at the Dragon Flies that are buzzing about .. will always be heaps of them .. one day all of a sudden you'll notice nearly all the large ones have disappeared and replaced by little ones .. This will only happen when nature has told them the wet is over ..

I was quite intrigued when I saw all this happen ..

Jon

I'm home in Logan City, Qld for a couple more weeks, then back up to Tin Can Bay for a week or two. Might have a few days over at Inskip Point too.

At home in Echuca for the moment. Have got all my in house power working. S in L did a fantastic job, in fact more than fantastic. Taking panels off and hiding wiring, putting in everything I need to stay longer on the road.
Now to work on getting the pop top fixed but don't think I will be doing much today, have had sinus/earache for the last two days, hoped it would be gone today but woke to it being worse, so, busy dosing myself in the hope something will work. My heads thumping.

Spent the weekend in Canberra with the Gnome and Mrs. Gnome, had a fantastic time.

Home now for the next 22 days getting ready for the Tassie expedition.

Couple of small maintenance things to do to the Jurgen and work out what NOT to take.

Do not take any fresh fruit, vegetables or honey with you.

Do take clothes for both summer and winter weather.

To be really honest Gert, I completely forgot that you lived there or I would have been in touch.

Will be quite some time before we are back over there as there are so many miles to travel in the 18 months but I won't forget next time.

Sorry

Currently in Melbourne, having wandered down the Newell Highway from Newcastle.

Always a very pretty and interesting drive. Patches of Paterson's Curse coming out- I know its a weed, but very pretty purple.
This trip we got a very good look at the rice paddies near Finley.
Promised myself a stop off at the Big Strawberry on the next trip.
Travelled in beautiful weather- 29/30 degrees all the way. Now wet and cold, heater on, typical Melbourne.

Planning to genealogical expeditions to find long lost family graves in counrty Victoria over the next day or so, and then on to Greens Lake after the long weekend boats are gone.

Hey Rip and Rosie.....

We did the genealogical thing whilst in SA and Vic just recently.  Were in the Barossa, Nhill and Glenlee, then Jindera NSW

Great bit of country and lots of great things uncovered.  A very positive trip.
