Hi guys, I'm not exactly 100% sure, and I could be wrong, but I think there may be a new Phone Scam starting. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else yet, so see what you think.
Got a 'phone call @ 8.45 am Qld time, with an Asian male asking if I was Mrs. Who-ever,[ couldn't understand him properly, but it was nowhere near my name]. When I said no, he then Quoted my 'phone No. with one No.missing, so I said no again.
Then he rushed on, that it didn't matter, he was from the [I don't remember if he said Commonwealth or State Government,] and asking if I had Solar Power, or Solar Hot Water.
When I said I already had Solar Hot Water, he said Oh! [Dejectedly I thought,] and was off the 'phone in 2 seconds flat.
What do you think? Would the Government, [either one] be ringing people to ask if they had Solar Anything ?
Rang the ACC already, and they were useless.

I would think it was a scam, if you think a cold call from anybody is a scam then say you are busy and ask for a phone no so you can call them back, if they will not give a phone no then you can class it as a scam.
I mostly do your second suggestion nowadays Wombat, but didn't have enough Info, and it was all over too fast.
Contacted Scamwatch, and they were less than useless. I even rang, and the idiot I talked to, after not being at all helpfull, told me to ring my local Police Station. He's certainly getting paid just for sitting on his backside.
Going to the Complaints section is the next step.
