Keep in mind that with full width mud flaps, the rear diff, axel housing and transmission will get much hotter a lot quicker.

The airflow with these flaps is greatly restricted and as such overheating problems can and often do occur.

Also one puts full width mud flaps on and then when traveling on gravel roads finds that the center of the flaps drags on the gravel due to the wheels traveling in the worn wheel track part of the road.

I suggest that you have a look at Rock Tamers and the lie as they cover the wheels only. I also have a Patrol and there is no way that I would have full width mud flaps due to the air circulation and the reason as above.

The best way is to get a square piece of alum  tube from bunnings and bit of heavey shade cloth it helps to let the air flow and run it across your tow bar use a large U bolt to hold it on and the shade cloth will slow most rocks down.
