Eulo - SW Qld

Anyone who likes a good liquer....call into the the Palm Grove Date Farm at Eulo and try/buy some Sticky Date wine.  It is divine.

There is also free camping on the Billabong.

Gday...

I hope they have got the general store back up and running after it was burnt down a month or so ago.

It was a huge blow to the town with that out of action.

cheers

John

Yes John,  I had heard about that too.

We were there in June and a new young couple had only just taken over so it must have been a terrible blow to them as well.

Will check it out and report back as I am again heading that way, but it will be a few weeks yet.

John, I have just come from Eulo and the news is not good......it seems the General Store is not about to be rebuilt.

The word in Eulo is....that the owners are leaving town as the cost to rebuild is too great and the council requirements are too stringent.

Here is a pic of the vacant block.

Very sad.....

Anyone tried out the hotspa at Eulo? It was closed for the summer when we went thru a couple of years ago. Sad to hear about the General Store. That was a lovely little place.

If you are referring to the mud baths at the Date Farm....yes they are closed again.

That would be them. Have travelled a few thousand km since then.
Anyone else stayed at the fantastic CP at Thargomindah? Probably the best camp kitchen we've encountered.

 Gday...

Geeeeez .... what a total shame. I can understand the young new owners, just got in and then it all goes up in smoke - literally. Money and regulations - the killer of our modern society.

I hope it is not the thin edge of the town's future - Liked Eulo and the surrounds.

Cheers

John
