At last - off tomorrow - dog bathed - van and ute packed (food and beer). Barry finished work yesterday and got the "all clear" from Haematologist and surgeon - so a relaxing 5 weeks to get to Lakes Entrance for Xmas then who knows where from there.
Lovely goodbye visit from Jayco Gypsy and Delta today - thanks guys

Enjoy your trip, and don't forget when going across the Nulla to look out for the nymph and if you need medical assistance you can always drive into an aboriginal settlement and as for help, most have a clinic of some sort, at Yallata there is also a police station, he will show you where the clinic is there if needed.
That's great advice Womby. The Nullarbor is not really the great ordeal it used to be, despite the length of the highway. Whatever you do, take your time. Do short bursts for the first few days until you get into nomad mode. Relax and pat the dog. It really is a big, lovely world out there. Enjoy!

Yay - almost in SA - will stay on the Great Australian Bight tonight with a magnificent free ocean view- this is the 4th night free camping -then probably stay a week in Smokey Bay Caravan Park - not much road kill on the Nullabor but thousands of dead budgies around Mundrabilla - cheers all Jenny and Barry

I came around a bend near a wheat paddock near Finley and about 100 galahs lifted off the ground and I drove into them at about 120 kmh (was young at the time) I cleaned up about 50 of them, looked like a galahs graveyard, feld bad about it for a long while.

Hi Happy Wanderer - there were many patches of 20-30 dead on the road over about 10k's (road kill) - asked at the roadhouse but other than saying they had had 2 good breeding seasons they had no answer - at one place when we stopped they landed and sat on the door frame only inches from where I was standing - amazing
