Micky thompson tyres are having a problem with a bad batch of tyres. A local friend had a set fitted to go on holidays, they all cracked within a few hundred kls, they were replaced & same again, he is now up to 4th set, yes 16 tyres,
The last set they tried a different tread pattern, these didn't even leave the tyre centre drive way before they cracked as well.He has yet to get home,
This is not the kind of thing we want to see but it goes to show that they can all have their share of problems at some point in time.

A few years back on a trip to the Flinders Ranges a member of our group had Mickey Thompsons fitted. They were brand new before the trip and the hard rocky 4wd tracks chewed out the rubber to the point that they needed replacing. He blew one tyre and was lucky to not blow more. As there was a group of us doing the same tracks we were able to compare with other brands of tyres and I was able to get many more trouble free kms of use out of my Coopers that were fitted at the time.
I lost track of the person concerned but I did hear second hand that the supplier honoured the warranty and that it was the result of a bad batch then.
