Gday...

I haven't been there but your query interested me so I checked Google Maps/Satellite/Streeet View.

The van park in Cudal is on the right as you enter from Orange - eastern end of the town.

Satellite view and StreetView shows that is a grassy park with quite a few trees - looks quite nice actually.

There is no report on Badger's List so other than that, unable to assist with further info.

Cheers

John

Check it out for 1 night, and if you like it extend your stay for the required amount of nights/days. If you don't like it, move on.
Is there a specific reason you've chosen to research this park?
Maybe adjust your plans.

Cruisin Granny....we always try to find the road less travelled as well as find different roads we have not previously been on, hence the trip across from Orange to Parkes before heading north to Peak Hill and then on to Narromine to Cobar....at least that`s the current plan.

Looks like we might need to adjust if the rain keeps on and the rivers keep rising. We hope to leave next Monday morning but may need to delay or cancel depending on the weather....will be sad to cancel as the reason for the trip at this time of year is to bring some Christmas Cheer & Carols to those less fortunate tucked away in small country towns of Cobar, Warren, Coonamble, Quambone, Carinda, Nyngan, Nymagee & Tottenham.

This activity is a Salvation Army initiative with the first section to commence at Moree/Bourke this week...joining the 2nd group late next week in Cobar. Must say the organiser voice some concern many weeks ago after looking at the long range weather forcasts, looks like they may be right, the next few days will tell us a lot.

hi whiteman, we went Syd to Parkes & return in Jan this year. I don't know of your preference for free camping or the distances you will be traveling per day, but we had a look at the Macquarie Woods between Bathurst & Orange (1021 camp 6), & thought it a good stop to keep in mind. We stayed overnight at Shadforth Reserve (1022 camps 6) & thought it ok, quiet reasonable for an overnighter. & if you wanted to go via Molong, then Gamboola Rest Area, (1029 camps 6, 17k before Molong) looks fine by the photo in the book. Hope this is of some help.

Got to Cudal CP about lunch time yesterday only to find the place populated like ants with fruit pickers with their tents everywhere, checked out if we could fit in and decided to move on without bothering the owner....I did call him earlier in the week and all was well, so he said.........no problems we moved on to Manildra for a couple of days and head off in the morning.

You can stay at the showgrounds where a couple of van were over last week end with power & water...we stayed elsewhere, so all was good and looking forward to a meal at the pub tonight !!.
