Between Hervey Bay & Nambour

We have 10 days to fill in before doing a house sit near Nambour.  Can anyone suggest somewhere to park up (taking into consideration school holidays). All ideas would be appreciated

Standown Park, half way between Gympie and Tin Can Bay, comes highly recommended,

Hi Guys,
I am in Hillcrest CP near Hervey Bay and I have to move out because of the Xmas hols. There is a new facility called Flame Lily Adventures who have vacant sites over Xmas. They are on the Burrum Heads--Howard road about six K's before you reach Burrum Heads.I have no idea of their prices but I believe they have a website.
It is between Torbanlea and Burrum Heads,Torbanlea is on the Bruce Highway north of Maryborough.
Maybe worth a look

Thanks for suggestions. I checked up on website for Flame Lily Adventures & they are over $30/night. As we are self contained we are probably looking more for a very cheap or free site. We don't need any facilities

Thanks for suggestion Lilly. We had a stopover at Bauple a few weeks ago. Lady at shop told us we could park on grassy knoll. She said where people used to park (next to school) was now not available as ONE of the local councillors was against allowing free camping. Apparently the locals do not agree with him.

You are welcome to drop in here if you would like to, we are on 20 acres in Gympie, quiet ,pretty, close to everything. good spot to look around TCB, Rainbow, Noosa etc. but be warned we have two roosters at the moment, (one not for much longer though)

Maybe they could sort out your roosters in return for the camp spot - just a thought biggrin

Sounds great Geoff n Jenn. We will be leaving here in the next day or so. It will be really nice to meet with you. We are self contained. If you give me you address & phone number i will contact you. My chauffeur is up with the birds every morning so roosters won't be a problem. I can sleep through anything. Looking forward to meeting with you Cheers
