Well, the Mrs finished making the christmas puddings today, couple for the kids & same for us .
Yours truely lifted them out of the boilers, I could have sworn that one had [ sample pack ] stamped on it. That suggestion was soon squashed, & I hate waiting.
Maybe a midnight snack,? Is it worth it,?.
Could always make a plea of a hard childhood, that seems to work for many.
I suggested there was still time to make another on, .
Do I or do I not???????? LOL LOL.

If you try it now it won't be as good on Christmas Day, just like when you find a present and take a peak. When you do actually open it, there's not as much excitement. I made my pudding last weekend. A nice big one to feed all of the family. Shame about all the other christmas tasks I haven't done yet.!!!!!
I see your point Womby, maybe just maybe, she put in the wrong ingrediants and everyone will get a dud Xmas pudding..............maybe but not bloody likely.
I always make about 10 christmas puddings, have an easy recipe that freezes well. Then can give to friends and enjoy all year. Recipe: makes 2 1kg mixed fruit 3 eggs 1 cup brown sugar 300ml cream 2 1/2 cups plain flour 1 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp bi carb soda
Beat eggs and sugar until thick and creamy. Add fruit with cream. Mix well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Mix well. Place into 2, 5 cup pudding steamers with lids and stem in saucepans for 3 hours, or one 10 cup and steam for 5 hours.
Optional: When cooked I sprinkle brandy over pudding and stand for 1/2 before turning out.

It aint over until the fat lady sings, and I dont feel like singing just yet!
I remember one year, I made the pudding early (early for me, like around now) and it smelled so good, we had a little bit to taste it. Then my sister called in and she had a bit. The we had a cup of tea, and pudding goes well with that. Then, she stole a bit to let my b-in-law have a taste. By then, we thought we might as well have another bit the next day....... you know how it goes.
By christmas eve, there was none left and I had to make another one!
