If it's not a rude question B, where can you get them? I've been looking for some genuine Corelle Cups for ages and ages

Not a rude question at all Ma.....I actually got them from my cupboard.

I suggest flea markets and garage sales are you best option.

I have the new ones but they are soooo heavy, I left them off the van. Used to have the lighter set years ago but alas, they are all gone now. no

The old ones are soooo much better.

 Me too.

I put the heavy ones in the home cupboard & replaced them with some bone china ones from DJs.

Much lighter & good to use.

Store them on those cup/glass holder strips that screw to the wall.

The old ones were made from the same product as the plates. The current Corelle mugs are made in Malaysia from fired clay. Bought some Kobor when I was in Japan. Unfortunately you cannot buy Kobor in Australia and don't think you can buy outside of Japan. Kobor is like Corelle only thinner. Kobor make great design mugs and cups.

I have one Corelle mug which I found in an op shop, and I guard it jealously. Good luck in your search Ma!

But, in the cool weather I prefer to use an insulated mug, the tea cools too quickly in the Corelle which is quite thin.

Do you want to put a photo of that up in our HINTS,TIPS & GREAT IDEAS thread Cupie, sounds ideal.

Hmmm...My brother & Japanese wife are going to Japan in January. Sounds like it could be worth buying a few dozen. wink

But the cups/mugs that come with those dinner sets are made of a completely different stuff goinsoon! I got my Corelle dinnerware at Big W and my only mug at an op shop! I prefer it to other types of china or melamine for everything.

When I bought our Corelle Dinner set last year, we were told then that the mugs would not be the same product as the plates.  We therefore chose a set that did not include mugs.

Not yet Baroma. I didn't get up there before they left for Vic. I'll go up when they return.
