Rob and I went to Parkes Elvis Festival last year. Had a fantastic time. Was all Elvis'd out by the time it was over!! Not going to Tamworth this year either, will be along the coast of Victoria by then. Currently at Wagga Wagga

Hi Valnrob, I was at Parkes last year for the festival also, if only I had known we could have had a quiet drink. you should have made yourself known, you couldn't have missed me, I was the one in a white jump suit.

What beautiful country !!

I'm lucky enough to be at Chaffey Dam which is approx. 35 k's from Tamworth .. Tamworth is well booked out, but you might still get something as a lot depends on circumstances on the day !

Here at the Dam there is a growing number of units of all types .. probably about 100 all spread out over a large area which is still far from crowded ..

Lotsa boats .. motor .. sail & canoes etc .. day trippers are heading home and that does drop the numbers briefly.

I have my name down at a CP in Tamworth to fill a cancellation ..  I'm advised its a regular function as dates draw closer. Suits me .. I'm happy to stay here at the Dam for weeks ..

Must do some pics tomorrow .. and attach here

I wonder how they celebrate New Years Day out here ... s'pos I'll find out ..

we stayed at the Austin Tourist Park in Tamworth for the festival. they wanted us to pay for 10 days, and they double it for the festival, which we did. as we stayed and worked there for awhile. (biada chooks) always looking for some one. There is a pub there as well. different artists every two hours. and Troy Casser-Daly stays at the park for a few days with his uncle, he will stop and have a chat.

Stayed there for a few days before the festival last year.....management told us that some people book in for a month or more before the festival in order to secure a site.

We booked nearly a year ahead and were lucky to get in. Info Centre said advisable to book really early.  The CP we were in packed the vans in like sardines, could hardly move.
