WOOLY THINKING

Had a recent experiance where we wanted to booked a van site at 1 of the 2 CP`s in Orange for a March 2012 date to find that the place is booked out or so it seems.

I find that the showgrounds also operates as an overflow for the CP, but is restricted to 40 sites with power/water. After a quick inspection of the SG it is clearly evident that the SG can handle a far greater number, but that is the limit imposed by Council.

Staggering you say...limited, wooly thinking you also say...looks like the Council simply is not interested in tourism for their fine City and despite all the retric to the contrary..actions speaks far louder than words.

So I`ve sent another message to Council via their PR person and will wait to see the results, not holding my breath but figure they need the metaphoric boot place somewhere on the anatomy.

My Mum lived in Orange for a number of years and she said the only thing colder than the weather in Orange was the people.

Another region which does not welcome nomads is Emerald.
I saw a sticker on a ute at the bottle shop to that effect.
When I asked why they don't like Grey Nomads in general, not this forum's members in particular, it was because of their driving practices.
Nose in the air, hands on the wheel, all over the road, travelling at a dawdling pace, totally oblivious of others.
I made a mental note of the number of vans and enclosed trailers towed by vehicles without towing mirrors. I get so mad!!!
