What made you go with the Landrover Discovery Blaze, I will be interested in your's and others comments as I have been thinking about a second hand one for a couple of weeks now. Originally I was thinking Ford Ranger, Mazda BT50 or maybe the Iveco ? etc but they are so expensive and not many second hand ones around my neck of the woods.

Hi Doug Had all makes of vehicles in the past and had the best run out of the discoverys, my last one was a disco series 1 with a tdi300 engine which was economical to run and apart from normal maintaince I had for 5 years, took me to some of the most isolate areas of aust and never let me down. My only comcern with the later one is the electronics but I have to get with the times (kicking and sreaming though). My only reason for replacement is rust in the loower A pillars, if I wasnt on the road I would have repaired it as it is still in perfect mechanical condition cheers blaze
Nice looking car Blaze. Its a pity the number plates went, they were very appropriate with the TD5 Motor.( I take it that it is a Td5 I just took another look at the picture and the front lights look diferent) A bit more power than Tdi as well.

Hi Landy
It has been chipped and has diesel gas, already done the big lap twice with a van in tow so it should nearly steer itself

I do not know much about diesel gas, Blaze, so how about posting some more info on it.
I have fitted a TRS chip to the TD5 Defender and also a Roverdrive overdrive unit and it has made a terrific difference to it.
Took the new van on a 400 K break in trip at the week end towing in 4th overdrive, the van weighs over 3 ton and we got 15 litres per 100 ks which we were really pleased with.
Enjoy the new tug Landy
