Its amazing to see crops growing again and life back to something like normal for some people there... I cant imagine the grief they carry with them, yet they get on with it.
A couple of months ago the highway was closed for road repair work and we were diverted off the highway through Grantham.
SCARY,
There were houses just washed off their stumps still sat there.Other houses fully renovated and repaired,others just shells with all the cladding and plaserboard removed.
Such a contrast and,made you wonder why some were done and others just left after the floods.
Insurance problems?
I saw some of the survivors on the TV the night before last and they are not giving up,still fighting to keep the community going.
Makes you realise that there are still great people with tremendous courage out there.
Very strong people and all of this have made then even more so .... Make me proud to be a aussie when i see people who have suffered such hardships just get on and rebuild theirs home and theirs lives ....
