Well 11.30 last night seen me and the boss pulling down our annex. Thought we could cheat and leave the front (tow hitch end) wall out but the main wall has no anchor system to the front support pole. So when the wind huffed and puffed the pegs come out and allowed the wall to travel along the sail track and flap all over the place. So we pulled the whole lot down and I have just finished putting it back up with the inclusion of the missing wall. No damage done but have learnt the lesson that all walls must be inplace if expecting wind.
My awning is flapping madly right now. It's so fragile and brittle, stretched and flaking that I can't tighten it anymore. I'm pricing a new awning right now. It protects the stuff I have stowed beneath it, but the walls don't fit anymore. It's too old and rotten to be covered if it get ripped in the wind. Insurance won't look at it. I had it assessed in Cairns, and that was the response. So it's a new, UV protected awning for me, some time in the near future. The best price so far for supply and install = $1200.

I have camped at the Marybough show grounds about five times and the wind at that site is shocking, last year almost took our tent away and it comes up without warning
