GN met today

 oops, GN's met today...

Here we all are!

Starting from the left...Eddie the stalkerwink...Bryan, a friend of mine whose wife Raewyn took the photo...Me...Brian(Goinsoon), Doreen...Brians wife, Daz and Barb, Lorraine & Brandt, (kiwi-as) Lynette & Howard, (animalcarer) and Eileen, Eddies wife.

We met at 10.30 and they were settleing in for lunch when I left them around 2pm. What a great bunch of people. The manager of Zaraffas couldn't believe we'd never met before!

Although I had met Eddie & Eileen before. Those who met at the Strawberry Farm last year, I nicknamed Eddie 'The Stalker' because he rarely comments on threads but reads everything.

My friends Raewyn & Bryan are wannabe nomads who've just bought their first camper trailer so they got a lot out of meeting everyone too.

They certainly are a happy looking bunch. Would have been a long day if lunch didn't start till 2pm.
Shows us grey nomads are such a friendly group, doesn't it.
Thats Daz in the background Doug, Not you. lol Must say there is a bit of a similiarity.

It did seem a long day Marj. Some went before me, but the majority were still there when I left. It was 'interesting' to see Goinsoon's patchwork face. biggrin I was going to take an extra closeup of him, but didn't want to scare anyone. wink

Lorraine & Brandt are lovely people. I hope to see them again before they head off. And they're hoping to come to our camp in May.

As everyone says, we're all a bunch of nice people!

Thanks, everybody, for the meeting. All lovely Grey Nomads. Goinsoon looked as though he had been punched in the face. Thanks Lynette for the basket of goodies to start the set-up of our caravan- lovely gesture.

Well I can honestly say that I didn't meet a grey nomad today, I met a whole bunch, including Eddie our resident stalker and wannabees soon to bees (I hope) Raewyn and Bryan.

What a great fun bunch, MaGs and I got there at 10am for a coffee with some nomads and foud Daz and Barb there and soon after the rest strolled in, I was really surprised with the roll up.

The day turned out to be a talk and laugh fest and the last of us reluctantly left at 3pm.

Thank you everyone for a fantastic day, it was a real treat and MaGs and I look forward to meeting more of the GN family in future.

Talking about a treat, I suppose I should show you the after pics, without disguises (hope I don't scare the horses and children.

The stitches come out on wednesday, and then I have to wait until the swelling goes down, then I go back and he will tidy it up there should be almost no scarring when it is finished

Glad you all had a good time - wish I could have been there - but sometimes life interferes with what we want to do.

It is a funny thing isn't it, that on meeting fellow nomads from this site, we all feel as if we have known each other forever - I know I have made some really good friends through the site - hope they will be my friends for a very long time.

Brian - couple of weeks, you will be back to normal - but it should serve as a warning to us all - slip, slop, slap!!!!
Though most of the damage has been done in our youth, when we really didn't know the consequences of using sun tan lotions and potions - we used to mix coconut oil and coca cola for a lovely deep tan - lie in the sun for hours, our skin just cooked, but we felt terrific because we were brown - well, we live and learn as they say.
