I am just starting to look into traverling solo. I will be getting a campervan as I think that will suit me best. Other then that I have no idea what I will need as I have never done this before. I have only ever been camping on short trip (4 weeks at most at a time). I will be making this my life, just traveling. Any suggestions will be very welcome.
Hi Shazza and welcome to the forum. Keep reading all you can on this forum, you will learn all you need. Keep asking questions, someone here will always have an answer.
There is a huge amount of experience collected in this forum. It was invaluable to me when I was just starting out looking for a van and subsequently setting it up for travel.
Now along with others I put back into the forum my experiences to help our newer members gain as we have done.
Which state are you in and what direction will you travel?
Hi and welcome Shazza. We all had to start somewhere. None of us were born nomads, although sometimes I think I was. Never be afraid to ask questions. That's how we learn, and we are all learning all the time. I hope you enjoy your stay on Grey Nomads.

Welcome Shazza. You will be glad that you have joined this Forum, just as I am. If you cannot find the information you requre from the site, all you have to do is ask and you will receive several very helpful and cheerful responses, giving you more information on which to base your planning. At the end of the day, you need to make sure that you make your decision/s for your own reasons and based on your own circumstances. Best wishes Lyn
Welcome Shazza, I have found this to be the best site for information, friendship and encouragement of a new lifestyle. I too am just starting my journey of travelling solo and looking forward to a completely new way of life. The questions asked are always greeted with good solid advice and stories from those who have travelled before us, and most of them are usually good for a giggle somewhere along the answer trail also.
Sharon.

Hi Brett, where are you at the moment. Bob from Florinhill just dropped by and thought he saw you in the Deloraine area and was hoping to catch up with you and thought you might have been here in the van park.
Shazza, I like you am a solo about to embark on the nomad life style. I lost my wife of 40yrs a couple of years ago and have been wandering in circles eversince. I have just upgraded my HiAce camper to a full on camper with the lot and am currently preparing my house to hit the market begining of April, getting rid of my business and just going. It is a masive decision but I can tell you now I feel so much better about life now that I have made that decision and now have some excitement and adventure to look forward to for the first time in a long time. I still will take a couple of months to hit the road full time but I can see that its right for me already. When buying a rig just remember it will be your HOME so think , canI live in this day in day out. From what I have read on this forum and on CMA forum you are only as alone as you want to be when traveling. JUST DO IT!
PS: I am in Adelaide and hope to be heading towards Darwin around the begining of June. Anyone else heading that way around that time would love to hear from you

At this stage we are heading toward Darwin from Perth about the same time, just not sure if we will get that far yet.
and a big welcome to the group ! .. I can't say much else as its all been said before me.
Its possible I'll be coming via Ulladulla on my way to Wollongong sometime in the nex 3 weeks .. If Ma (& Blue) were about then, we coulda all had a coffee together.
A huge welcome to you Shazza5? Ditto to all the above. I'm a relative newcomer too but have found the forum to be most helpful and the people very friendly and welcoming. I have had the good fortune to meet some of them in person and hope to catch up with a few more very soon. It's just nice to know there is someone out there if you need them. I wish you many miles of safe travel. Cheers Tess
