I had two biopsies

Went to Goinsoon's doctor today and had two biopies, one of the left side of my face, just above the ear, and one on a mole on the upper right arm. I was surprised there were only two. I thought I'd be a patchwork.

Going back on Monday for the results.

You were right Brian, he's very thorough, and a nice man to boot.

Beth, forgot you were going today. Good luck with the results on Monday.
I go tomorrow morning for my biopsy. I'm not even going to ask how it felt and I don't want to know.

Yes Marj. Unfortunately it has to be done, and I for one, have been putting it off for too long. The doctor actually asked me if I had my skin checked regularly, and I had to admit, it was only semi regularly.

I also had an appointment with my own GP a couple of hours later, so when I walked into her room I said, 'I've been unfaithful!' biggrin She laughed and said the previous patient had said the same thing. How amazing is that! But she wasn't offended by my 'unfaithfulness' at all. wink

Thanks Gert, I'm actually not too worried. I'm more worried by the fact that I'm well and truly overdue for a Colonoscopy, and waiting waiting waiting for the RBH to give me an appointment. With my history of Ulcerative Colitis, it's extremely important to have this done every 2 years.

I've also got to have a hearing test. I had to admit to my GP that my kids have been telling me that I'm going deaf, but when my sister also told me, I thought I'd better get checked! doh

Had my biopsy this morning. Didn't feel a thing, the injection did sting but only made me want to sneeze which I managed to hold off till she had taken the needle out.
Now have a bandage over my nose, got some strange looks in the supermarket. Off to the dentist in couple of hours.
Can always say I've had a nose job.
Have to keep bandage on till tomorrow morning and ring in a week for the results.

We don't have skin clinics down here like Qld does. It was my own GP who did it.
I'm not going to worry about it until I get the results. Plenty of time to worry then.

Well done Marj. My needle in the side of my face stung a bit but not the one in my arm. Yeh, the bandage on my face got a few looks, but didn't bother me.

I didn't go to a skin clinic, although I've been to one before. My GP isn't that knowledgeable on skin, that's why I went to Brians doctor. I thought he said he was a Dermatologist who bulk bills, but he's 'just' a GP who's very knowledgeable about skin. My GP was impressed that he also does skin grafts.

My visit this morning cost 93 dollars, she said I would get most of it back at Medicare.

Know what you meant Glenda. Bit of a twister isn't. A positive result would be to get a negative result. lol

I would say we all knew what you meant Glenda and I would say that as long as the result is clear then I don't care whether it is a negative or a positive.

Thanks all. Yes Glenda, knew what you meant.

Marj, this doctor bulk bills pensioners, as does my own GP. A doctor told Pam that most doctors in Australia would bulk bill pensioners.

Oh No!!! Not down where I am. A couple will bill age pensioners at one of the other clinics. The odd occasion my doctor has bulkbilled when I've gone back twice about the same problem.

So what we Qlders lose on the roundabout ie: having to pay our rego...we make up for on the swing ie: bulk billing doctors. wink
