Hi JC Rob and I are going to Hartwood this year. Apparently it is the last festival there due to the farm being sold. We know a lot of people who have been and said it was fantastic, Straight after Hartwood there is a Drovers Campfire at Boggabri which is a good turnout. We went last year. There are toilets and showers available, and we hve rebooked for this year. We have not been to Boondooma.

JC. I LOVE the Hartwood festival!! It is really well set up and well run, with great entertainment and a happy atmosphere.
This is their 25th Anniversary Year so they are expecting even more of a crowd than usual. I am really hoping to be there for it.
Haven't been to Boondooma so can't help with that one.
valnrob. I knew that Hartwood was up for sale...but hadn't heard that it had been sold. It was supposed to be sold with the rights to the music festival included. I REALLY HOPE that's what happened. You can't beat a good music festival out in the bush.
p.s. Looking forward to catching up with you all there.
Have not been to the music festival at Boondooma, however, have visited the homestead, and have met the organisers, Buddy and Lynne. I am sure it will be a great success. Apparently, last year they had around 5000 attending.
The homestead itself is a major draw card, we planned for an overnight visit, stayed for days, became a "friend of boondooma" and stayed for xmas party, 2011
Site is not listed in Camps at request of Buddy & Lynn.

For those close to Victoria there is a music festival at Avoca on the weekend of March 23/24. www.avocamusicfestival.com We will be there for that one and hope to get to a few more whilst over in the eastern states.
I've never been to a music festival in my life, unless you call Wintersun at Coolangatta a music festival.
I do love music of all kinds, so I must start looking out for some.
Beth, Boonbooma is do-able from Brisbane - about 1 1/2 hours from Kingaroy. Their music festival is over 5 days around Anzac Day. Plenty caravan parking.

Thanks Dunmowin, I've heard good things about Boondoomba but didn't know about the festival. I'll mark it in my calendar.
