just found a big huge ugly yuky spider, almost black in colour in the shower in my bathrooom, i dont know whats worse, seing it there the bloody flyspray to get rid of the thing , next time i think ill just use a mop... crikey...
I don't usually kill spiders but a friend of mine rang one friday arvo to see if I could come over to to send one off he is a chronic arachnaphobic and said "if you can't get here tonight I will go and stay in a hotel!!!!" I got there just on dusk and was faced with a green huntsman which if you put on a dinner plate the legs would go over the side Took 10 mins to dispatch it and 3 stubbies to get rid of the shakes. biggest one I have ever seen I was going to tell him they usually travel in pairs (heh heh) but didn't want to end up staying all night.

I dont blame your friend. I am not fond of any sppppider
I regard all spiders as being deadly. (I could easily have a heart attack)

i prefer not to kill anything, but i have a rule in my house, for the creepy crawlies, if you want to live stay out side, you can live in my garden, back yard and even under my house , but when you come into my house its my domain.....
John, is that an orb spider. Its very pretty. I can handle spiders even if I can't handle snakes. Milo, I was thinking your spider might have been a huntsman. I've never seen a green one as big as the one Peter and Rose mentioned. I get a lot of redbacks in my courtyard. They come out of my potplants. I do put my foot on those ones without feeling guilty.
Golden orbs and St Andrews spiders are my favourites. They are everywhere in the Kimberleys and the St. Andrews is common in Broome. They are really beautiful as spiders go. I'm not a fan, but I've developed a healthy respect for some of them just by watching them in the garden.
