Jayco recall

The ACCC and Jayco have issued a recall notice on various caravans & campers with the 2000Kg axle and 12" wheels.
Check out the site below to see if your van/camper is included in this recall.

thanks Ozjohn.
Rocket.. our van is 18months old, and its chassis number was within the numbers given, so fairly modern ones from the sound of it. We have bigger wheels so not worried.

Hi John, thanks for another timely & informative post. My chassis number falls just outside of the recall, & in any case I do not have a problem with wheel nuts, but last week I had to replace the front axle of my van, there was a difference of 22mm center to center in the off side to the near side. The repairer showed me that the axle was machined with the fault & said that when he contacted AL-CO with supporting photos they said that they were inconclusive & told him that all axles were manufactured in a jig & it could not be out. He suggested that I send the axle back to them for testing & they would probably have a result for me in about 8 weeks. Well with us living in the van & being in Perth at the moment this was not an option, it was cheaper to have a new axle machined locally & fitted. I don't look like getting anywhere with AL-CO so my next approach will be to Jayco, with a bill of $1,100.00 to get back on the road because of additional problems associated with the off set axle it is worth pursuing. It seems that an employee from the customer service department of AL-CO, (a misnomer it would seem), feels that their facility has 100% efficiency & accuracy, 100% of the time & has dismissed my enquiry out of hand. A sign of the times, I hope not. I know I have posted off topic, but gee it was good getting this off my chest.

That's not off topic, it is all related to wheel's Drum's and wheel nuts, all the same area.

If you still have no joy with AL-CO or Jayco phone this number 1300 302 502 and ask their advice.
