We are going, come what may!

We have been planning a trip to Brisbane for Easter, and take in some sights on the way via Burke, then to Carnarvon Gorge and other beautiful places in Qld, returning late May.

First of all, we thought we'd found a house-sitter, but they turned out to be someone we werent comfortable with, had to find somebody else... ok, tick that.

Then The floodwaters coming down the Darling mean we cant go on the Kidman Way. Chose another route, may need to revisit that with the current flooding, but still do-able. Tick that.

Then Mr D had a long-awaited appointment with skin specialist, thankfully nothing was serious, and the specialist preferred to wait till winter to do a "peel". Tick that.

Next was my appointment with a specialist because of a tongue ulcer which wouldnt heal ... the big C? Vast relief, nothing to worry about, can apply treatment. Tick that!

Our volunteering organisations are saying Oh Dear what will we do without you? They'll get used to the idea. All ticked!!!

Sometimes it seems hard to leave home, but we WILL GO! smilesmilesmile

Looks like somebody is looking after you both, good to hear all medical problems are ony small ones that do not require a lot of extensive treatment.

Hope you have a good enjoyable trip and you can keep very dry.

Hi Rosey,

Things have a habit of getting in the way when you are trying to leave. Just strengthens your resolve.

Now you have dealt with them all, go for it.

Have a great trip. Take care.

HI Rosey,

Looking forward to catching up with you and Mr D when you head our way - hope the 'wet' down your way is not causing you any problems at present. We finally have a fine day here in Tsv, hope it continues 'til we leave, but we too are having to re-assess our trip back home due to flooding etc.

But whatever way you decide to go, just take care on the roads.

Pete & June

Hmmm... was so relieved to get all that out of the way, but we arent going for a couple more weeks.
The way the water's rising here and along the way might give us more challenges yet. Wouldnt it be amazing to see the Darling river in flood, miles wide? Would love to see it, only way will be by plane I think, roads closed.

We can keep making excuses for not driving out of the driveway forever. Those volunteers will manage without you. You are volunteers, there will be more volunteers. It's their own fault if they don't.
Just go, do no procrastinate. Do it! Once you get past "GO" the rest is all down hill, but you may not collect $200. You will enjoy yourself.
Carnarvon Gorge is certainly worth a look, but wait til things dry out as there are a couple of creek crossings along the way, and the road is not sealed and can get slimy when it's wet. I went in there Christmas time and it had only dried out enough with a trickle over a couple of crossings. The camping ground looked great but I didn't stay because it looked like rain, and I mightn't have escaped for a couple of days.
Take care out there, safe and happy travels.

Another bl**dy challenge! Mr D was backing out of the garage when the frame of the garage door jumped out and broke the passenger-side mirror. The Clearview Mirror!

Have to wait till Monday to take it to the dealer... its not just the glass but part of the frame as well. Hope dont have to pay for whole new one!
