Not sure about the Truelux Gail but I have checked out the "Travelhome" at the Echuca Agent (Ford Dealer) and found it to be very practical, priced well, had everything, good size range and easy to tow. You can even arrange a visit to the factory and check out construction etc. I looked at the Ranger for towing.
The sales lady I had didn't apply any pressure at all and was very helpfull. I checked it out as it was a plan my late wife and I had but I changed my mind on the 5th wheeler as I don't need that size now that I am solo.
I ended up going with a Avan camper for storage reasons more than anything and didn't want to pay storage fees as I live in a retirement village and no storage for caravans, the camper fits under my carport.

Thanks for your help Doug. We have looked at theTruelux 3 times now at caravan and camping shows and will go to factory when we are through in Vic. in May. Our plan is to sell our house and van and go on the road permanently. We have also looked at the new Ford Ranger as the tow vehicle.
Hi, Don't have one but have been looking at 5th wheelers for last 6+ years. Narrowed it down to 2 brands. Trulux and Southern Cross, and finally settled on Southern Cross - hope to get one later this year. Both these brands are made in Australia to Aust conditions, and to your design. Trulux is at Kilsyth in Melbourne and Southern Cross is in Brisbane , so are we so part reason why we went that way.
Have you looked at Southern Cross? www.southerncrosscaravans.com.au They are a bit different in that they are more like normal caravan but have lounge/dining up front over hitch area instead of bed as most 5th wheelers have.
Hi Edco, we are in SA so will probably go for the Truelux in Melbourne. Have seen a southern Cross and they are very nice too, but Brisbane's just a bit too far away at present. Bob liked the Truelux because he could stand upright in the bed area over the tow hitch.
