Wollworths 4c docket???

Now days if looking for a bargain, it pays to look around a bit & not jump on the first thing that looks like a bargain. When I see a special on the internet I research it with sites like:

http://www.staticice.com.au/     http://www.shopbot.com.au/

http://www.nextag.com.au/        http://www.getprice.com.au/

http://www.shopferret.com.au/

These sites search the internet for the best price on an item. Unluckily these sited don't do petrol but are invaluable for other stuff.

I wouldn't call it being ripped off as they don't claim to be 4c under the cheapest price in town.

1c is better than nothing.

Here in Tassie, it can get a bit cold.

Rather shop in me "woolies" than naked.

Keep it clean Dusty. I'd rather you shop in your woolies than naked as well. The mind boggles.
Once again my mind went into animated mode overdrive. Mmmmm, nuh, keep it on when shopping.

Some of the independents have cheaper fuel all the time, but it's not worthy driving around half a day to save a few cents per litre.
United and Gull can be cheaper than Caltex, BP or Shell. BP seems to be the dearer wherever I've travelled, but they often provide the best amenities and food.
I don't even know where the nearest Coles Shell is, in spite of the fact I shop at Coles mostly. No point in spending $10 to buy $50 of diesel.
We just have to watch them. The docket discount is a bit of a croc of sh!t anyway. You've already paid for it when you went through the checkout.

I'm happy to use the 4c woolies dockets. Not always 4c either. Have had 4, 6, 8 cents at different times. Even a 12c one time. If it makes my fuel cheaper I'm all for it.
There's no rip off. You see the price before you enter the service station. If you don't like it move on. If you do, go in and get the discount.

Recently had a 12c "voucher" so I filled up...took 116 litres for a saving of $13.92. Pump price was 148.9, that was also best price in the area, other "brand names" nearby were 151.9.

Normally use BP where I get 5% cashback.

Hear, hear.....totally agree with you HW.

My local woolies Caltex is always the same price if not cheaper than the local competition.

4 cents a lite off when you are filling up to 145 litres is always welcome.

I don't overspend, just buy the groceries I would normally buy and am very mindful of the costs.

Don't buy anything that I feel has the prices hiked up.  Have on occasion qualified for 15 cents a litre off.

KEEP USEING THOSE DOCKETS ??

Or you can make a deal with me ???????

I will give you $50 per month towards your petrol bill, for the next 12 months
That is a much better bargain than getting 4-6 or 12 cents per litre off

I am only making this offer because, I like you and you do not have to buy anything else from me to qualify !!

The only thing I ask in return, is that after the 12 month period is over.

Is that you return the favour, by paying me $100 per months for the next 10 years ???

WHAT !!! NOT FAIR ??? IT'S A RIPP-OFF !!! YOU SAY ?

Well that is the same deal that the ;; shopper docket people are offering you and you think that's fair ??

And once the Coles / Woolies, force out all the Independents, that is exactly what will happen, up go the prices !!
They are a very big organisation, with lots of money, and very shrewed marketing strategies.

They do not mind Investing a couple of hundred thousand dollars, in a shopper docket scheme now, as once they get the strategic result, and the Independents are gone ???
Then the return on that couple of hundred thousand Investment, will result in a Profit of Millions $$$

BUT !!! If you do not think my deal is fair. then OK keep useing the dockets regards dazren

I never was good at maths. That analogy went straight over my head. confuse.gif

And yes, none of us like the big businesses putting the small independent ones out of business but it's getting hard to avoid now days.

I have to admit I & probably most of you shop at the major supermarkets which has put many corner stores out of business in the past plus, probably on occasions, we drop into Bunnings, Big W, Target, Kmart, Rivers, Spotlight Mc Donalds, Red Rooster, KFC, & the list goes on.

Cheers

Jon
