Having been in a similar situation to Ma (I don't know her), I chose another way of solving the problem...nevertheless, after reading this and having read this and other forums for some considerable time, I think that this has a very pertinent and poignant message for all...
Before I start I apologise to Cindy and all here for this not being to do with Caravans etc but it is to do with Grey Nomads or at least one Grey Nomad and that is the name of the Website. I am also NOT looking for sympathy in any way.
Now, I lost my wife to cancer in May 2011 after 3 years of hard fighting from her and myself I suppose, that was after loosing my son in a tragic motor bike accident a couple of years earlier.
I started to fall apart rapidly and it was suggested I get counselling, I tried that and lasted two sessions and felt that wasn't what I needed.
I found "The Grey Nomads" Website.
Thanks to everyone on here I found a way of coping, people with the same interest as me, travel, caravans, meeting these people and a bit of a laugh.
"The Grey Nomads" has been and will always be the only therapy I will ever need and I am sure of that.
THANK YOU AND THANKYOU CINDY AND YOUR TEAM.
I don't mind it when a post goes off subject as it always gets back on.
There has not been a day since I joined that I have not got a laugh for one reason or another and not one day where I have not found out something about caravans, or caravan life. I have done a bit of stirring and got some back it's all part of the fun and laughs.
If for some reason I don't like a subject or comment, I just don't read any further or just click that left mouse and move on.
Ma, I valued your input on this site and enjoyed our chats and will miss you, you were one of the people (unbeknown to you) that help me through a bad time. I hope you reconsider sooner than later.
Again THANKYOU one and all.

Isn't it wonderful to see what friendship can do. You don't have to know the person face to face, you learn a lot about someone through their postings.
Hope to meet you one day mate.

Doug, Couldn't have said it better myself. There are a few I know on here been through similiar to you and wouldn't be where they are without this forum. We all support each other, thats what its all about. I have to say the same, If I don't like a thread thats got a bit out of hand I don't bother going back in there again. The majority are really worth the effort so hang in there everyone. Sometime we can get a bit annoyed about something another has said but it won't make me walk off this forum. It's too valuable to my mental state. lol
I am only new to all this and have no idea what got Ma so fired up. I am similar to doug having had a really bad few years and decided to move on and sell everything to become a grey nomad. I have never chatted with Ma but have read many of her comments and always found them to be relevent and informative no problem. I have seen some comments from others that I found irrelevant and bordering on nasty/offensive and have just ignored them and not bothered to read anything further from that member, if I could figure out how or if you can I would ignor/ban all their posts. simple as that. As Doug found I have also found this forum in general good therapy to keep me on track, much better than counciling as I do not play well with uni type dogooders at the best of times. Anyone that has contact with Ma please encourage her to come back as a forum like this is good for the soal and we are all in the same boat one way or another.
Well said all and I echo your sentiments, we have all been a great and friendly group and I am sure we can all persevere and ignore the odd nasty pasty that rear their head now and then.
Reading what this forum means and has done for some here in their trials and tribulations is very humbling and re-inforces the friendships formed on here.

Thanks for that everyone, my sentiments exactly, I have had some very dark dark days, and thanks to this forum and the CARING people in it, have managed to get beyond being blue. I am passionate about people coping with mental health issues, and passionate about dogs, and passionate about bowel cancer awareness. Out of tragedy comes passion. Ma and others included have all given me the tools to be able to cope. And also tips on the nomad lifestyle, free camp sites, and numerous other issues too many to list.
I do feel that one can become exhausted mentally trying to figure out WHY people have to have their egos constantly magnified. By ignoring crap and not reading posts does help. Its just like spoilt kids looking for attention, IGNORE them , if they dont get any attention, they will end up posting to a brick wall.

Take care
Well put Lynette, there are a few posts that I am not really interested in so I just skip over them and move on to posts that are of more interest.
I have made some very good friends on this forum and I hope it all continues.

While I won't pretend I really know what Doug and others have been through...I'm divorced, not widowed...I do understand loneliness.
When I left my psycopathic ex in '01, it was the first time in my life that I was living alone. It took a while to get used to.
I'm a people person...worked in retail for years...I don't do craft etc, I like to read, write and talk, and google stuff...learn more about things that interest me...so this site suits me very well. I too have made some really good friends through here, some I haven't even met yet!
To me, it's not just about caravanning/travelling, it's mateship too.
This forum is a real tonic if you are feeling down especially Wombat with his crazy sense of humour thanks Wombat and also Doug what a wonderful post thanks for sharing it with us. Ma we all miss you Helena.

Doug its been wonderful to know you on this forum and your comments and sharing have always been informative and supportive. It's because of great people like you that I'm here as well. I hope we can all manage to be flexible and tolerant and accepting of individual differences and beliefs and respectful of positions and mindful of not putting people down for beliefs and lifestyles. I love reading about everyones experiences and adventures and the creative ways of tackling obstacles. I have really enjoyed meeting the couple of nomads I've caught up with so far and very much look forward to meeting more on the road. The sense of community generated by this forum is really crucial and theraputic for my way of being and thanks to everyone for being there and sharing your selves.
Wow,what has happened while I've been driving people around the bend "On The Buses" all afternoon. I didn't expect such a response. I can only hope Ma returns sooner than later now she can see how much she is loved and missed already.
When people ask me what do I do with myself when not being a part time Grey Nomad, I say I drive people around the bend (drive buses).
I hope I meet a lot of you as we all move around in different directions and in different ways.
Happy travels my friends.

The forum has bucked me up a number of times when I have been down - some people make me laugh and some make me cry (just a little bit). I have "met" some amazing people and some inspiring ones as well. Others are just normal like me - but probably with less issues but who's to say because a lot of people are like me and keep their issues to themselves.
However there are some posters who "say" things that really really bug me - and there are some people who are opinionated; but in these cases I just shut the post down and move onto another one.
