I think the "get what you pay for" rule applies here. "Full copper alternator" I think would seem to imply it's not an inverter type. Most modern gennies now use an internal inverter that produces a much more stable and cleaner output.
PS: The best (and least expensive) option for powering a laptop when mains is not available is to purchase a 12v laptop charger/adaptor. Jaycar sell these but they are available from elsewhere too.

Hi Everyone, this week at Aldi they have a portable gerator 2200w. air cooled 4 stroke ohv single cylinder engine, displacement 196cc. engine power output: 6.5hp (4.87kW). 15l tank. 13 hrs continuous operation. full copper alternator. 2 power sockets. - 1. does anyone have one? 2. are they noisey? 3. will I be able to run my computer on it? 4. will I be able to run the aircommand reverse cycle airconditioner on it? 5. will it run a twin tub washer? Best thing is to get all details of a Honda or other good genny and check the details of the aldi one a my 2 kva Honda will run my air con and it will run your twin tub washing machine so if everything matches it should be ok
Im asuming its the Taurus genny for $299. 2200watt. The reference to all copper generator is to the windings, as some cheepies these days are Aluminim windings. It is Automatic Voltage Regulated AVR. Iam familiar with this type of generator with a different brand name on it. It is a good sine wave but the engine runs at a fixed speed of 3200RPM to give 50Hz. The only down side is they are fairly noisy. It will run every thing you have, but not sure if it will start the Aiconditioner.
that's made it clearer to me what's meant by "all copper". Appears my assumption about not being an inverter job is correct however

PS: The better quality generators these days use an inverter to deliver a pure sine wave output that's clean and not dependant on the engine revs for frequency stability. They are also quieter than those from "days of yore".
