Here in Bacchus Marsh Diesel has just hit $1.55.9 From $1.44.9 It's a good thing we Grey Nomads are Well off Or else we could find it difficult to travel with every other going through the roof...I'm thinking I may stay in Victoria for the rest of my travels....The Water here is fine plenty of Lakes and Fish Why go anywhere else..Was looking at QLD again around July....Don't knoe now

What is so annoying is that they only quote the ULP & Diesel prices and never show the ULP Premium prices.

These are around 10 cents higher than the ULP. A large number of vehicles now run only on 95/98 premium.

This makes a difference to travel costs.

Still going to travel but maybe not as far .

Sorry minor rant about fuel.

I paid $1.50 per litre Diesel today at the Caltex on Port Wakefield, Bolivar, one of the country's most busy 24 hour roadhouses.

One good thing about the UL Premium Peterpan is you get slightly better economy and it keeps your injectors/system clean. I run gas and premium petrol in my Prado.

Some times its cheaper to fly. Last week took wife to Adelaide so she could fly to Melbourne, air fare there & back $90. trip from home to Adelaide & back 240Kms $70 in LPG.

Everyone takes advantage of the Easter and other public holiday traffic demands and cashes in.
It's so dishonest.
I'm sure they fill the tanks at a much lower price than they charge through the bowser.
This week eg they fill the tanks for $1.00 per litre on Friday. They sell it through the bowser for eg $1.40 per litre until the following Wednesday, and they sell the same fuel for $1.70 per litre for the rest of the week.
There doesn't seem to be any price control on mark-up from the cost of filling the tanks underground to the fuel tank in your car.
Like everything else, the corporations run amok with our buck.

Wish I were in Oz. Here (Holland/Germany) we pay 1.75/1.67 Euro (2.21/2.11 Aud) for ULP these days. And the Easter hike is yet to come. On the other hand, crossing Holland East to West is 135 km, North to South 385. And drive no big SUV or 6 cil Holdens

I was just about to post about the fuel prices overseas, if more aussie's went OS then they would think, look how cheap our fuel is at home.

There's overseas and there's overseas. How about this, it's about the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait and surroundings). And before you start to pack up, read the last line:

Petrol price reduction in UAE - February 2012
The Federal National Council (FNC) reportedly wants the petrol price in the UAE to be reduced. Currently the UAE is the most expensive country in the GCC region for petrol (although still relatively cheap compared to many other countries).
Petrol in the UAE is AED 1.72 (that is 0.45 Aud) per liter. According to some news reports, the UAE Minister of Energy, Mohamed Bin Dhaen Al Hamli, said the UAE government already subsidises petrol to the tune of AED 1.20 per liter, implying that without subsidies, the price would be closer to AED 3.00 per liter. Oddly, some of the petrol selling companies in the UAE have complained in the past that they are making significant losses on the sale of petrol because the petrol price is regulated, so it's not clear where the subsidy is going then.

Some discussion revolves around whether or not cheaper petrol should be available only to Emirati citizens but not expats.

your last line is on a par with the NT here in Australia, if you live in the NT you get free admission to Kakadu if you don't you have to pay $25 PP and we all live and pay taxes in Australia.

I did eventually receive a reply from the Minister to say that NT people get in free because they (our government) believe they will take people visiting NT into the park, what a load of crap.

At a little combination servo/ news agent /corner shop a couple of days back at Manning Point had unleaded for $1,75 & prem for $1.95. Dont think he would sell much.

willem269 Australia is a little on the big size Compared to Europe Where one can dive a through several countries on a full tank..Remember we have to keep filling up everyday to get to our destination if one drives through......Crime will go up. Murder Drive throughs..Fuel hikes will kill Nations

We have lost control of our country.
The corporations seem to have free reign on the prices of their products and our money. There is no control. Not price control.
Right up to the current government, they spend it all and then make a decision about what they impose a new tax on to cover the losses.
There's just no control.
The consumer spends money they don't have, and will never have, thanks the to free access to credit, whether the consumers can afford it or not. There are so many frivolous products out there like computer games and gadgets not essential to every-day living.
Consumers are victims of themselves, and the suppliers are taking full advantage and then some.
Watch your money, hold your wallet, hang on tight, because everyone thinks they have a right to take your money whether you want to release it or not. Hold on!

Tonight we paid $1.68 for unleaded 95. That's on the far south coast of NSW. Not even Easter yet!

I was surprised to find unleaded only $1.51 here in Biggenden. Was paying up to $1.58 on the way up here.

The latest about fuel in this part of the world. The Netherlands that is. Unleaded 1.77 euro, 2.25 Aud.

We have our own wells here and sell it overseas very cheap then charge the singapore price, sounds b/s to me
not all countries overseas are paying what we do ( suadie arabia ) and the emerites dictate the prices and are cheap in their countries

Oh I understand totally wombat, thats why I never complain. NZ is well over 2.00 a litre. I do try to get my discounts whenever I can.
