Has anybody heard of the pivitol locator it is supposed to fitted to your motorhome or van and the kids are able to locate where you are on their computer, it is supposedly made on the gold coast but I cant find it
Do remember reading/seeing an article on this a while back but cannot recall where, it is a GPS tracker and can be set to most mobile phones or a dedicated tracking device. Think someone in Sydney was marketing them at a means of seeing where your kids were at any given time. Sorry just cant remember where I saw it, May have been on ACA or similar
Many of the big trucks are using similar devices. The office uses it to locate the truck, assist with directions in a new town or city when looking for a truck yard or depot. The driver's sure helped us around Emerald when we were looking for over-dimension routes and crane yards. Asking the kids for money? Mmmm, an interesting concept.

Asking the kids for money ha ha ha it's the other way around.
My boss had GPS tracking devices fitted to 3 of our buses a couple of months ago, amazing what she can actually find out about the bus now. Personally I feel I am being spied on now knowing the info she can get but I don't do anything wrong so have nothing to worry about. I"M A GOOD BOY.

Yeah, sure you are. That's what you lead us to believe. That device will keep you on the straight and narrow. The truck driver I worked with was very thankful for the info his office could send him to put us in contact with the delivery point. I don't know how distracting it is to be using it while driving. Maybe another question.

The type in our buses is hidden away somewhere under the dash Chrissy, it's something we don't actually use. The boss has some program installed on the office computer that she just has to open and check out whatever she wants. It can be live or she can also go back in time, so to speak. It can tell her what time the bus arrived, when the engine turned off or on, what time the bus left, how long the bus idled for etc etc. Basically, anything at any given time.

Sheba, thanks for that link, one problem is the company has to talk to you for 1 hour before they can tell you the cost involved, here's what they say in their FAQ:
A. C-track is highly cost effective and competitively priced. Pricing will vary from one organisation to another depending on individual needs in terms of system configuration and numbers of users requiring access. However, it is generally true to say that a modest saving of 15mins of time per man per day, or a fuel reduction of a couple of litres per day will mean that the system begins to pay for itself from day one. A short meeting of about an hour is generally sufficient to enable us to give you a firm price quotation.
