Nazi ParK and Wildlife Service

Hi,

I am camping in a national park (Meroo) I have been here since 3 days before easter. Today I came back from shop and my neighbour said that i had been evicted. i have only been here for two weeks the limit is 30 days.  they also said the NPWS went into my tent and took photos!!! they also left an eviction notice.

1) are they alllowed into my tent?

2) Are they allowed to take photos of the inside of my tent

3)If i have not stayed longet than 30 days why are they hassling me? I have been here for two weeks, prior to that i had two months at a council park (ulladulla healdind) and prior to that i had two weeks at blue mtns, and several days at $150 per night at lance cove Riuver NATIONAL PARK !!!

Not happy jan. invading my privacy what rights do i have, can ranger enter any tent or van??

any assistance welcome. NSW National Parks.

cheers

peter

That's a bit rough Peter, did your neighbour get a rego number of their car? I agree that it's an invasion of privacy. I would have to ask as well, was your neighbour sure they were NPWS.

I must say though I was camped in a tent about 10 years ago in a CV park in Walkerville Victoria and when I came back from being out my tent and all inside had been moved to another site 2 down. The manager said they forgot my site was pre-booked for a 3 month stay. Was I wild. I was there for a week and ended not paying for my stay. Surprisingly I have been back a few times since.

Hi Doug,

luckily the neighbours know the the name of the ranger. Its a weekend (jack daniels) so i will wait till monday and maybe go to NPWS office and take photos of all their staff!!!. I still believe entering a tent is an invasion of privacy. As said when i get some shore power i will examine privacy act and findings. Recently a friend of mines insurance company denied a $20,000 claim, they wanted him to pay, i check legislation and got him to challenge them and he won. they paid.... I don't like Nazi's.

1) why did you go back? is it good? i mean like REALLY good?? I have given up on blackeath NSW as new manager is SO stressed out..... I have gone their for 30 years.....
am looking for a good spot for about 4 weeks in MAY.

cheers

Yes I do like the place Peter. I just forget about what happened, it wasn't life or death, worse things have happened.

I am interested in knowing what their reason was for evicting you in the first place.. Had they got it wrong or did you do something wrong?

I am also curious what the hellabo was all about. I would want an explanation, an apology, and a copy of documentation as to their unique rules as to why it occurred.
If one is not told at the ONSET they havent got a leg to stand on. Simple.

yearly sticker not required at meroo, i renew it when i go north to stay at pay parks.Which i will do, i didnt see point in getting one as i have been staying in council parks in last 3 months in my travels. (stayed at Ulladulla headland for two months, used to own a cabin there, it is a GREAT spot)

Ranger has aplogised for entering tent. that was why i was pissed off.It is all now sweet.

not evicted but heading nth in a couple of days anyway. Coastal and mtn nat parks..

I thought pensioners were not required to have permits for national parks or fishing licenses.
