I know nothing about A Vans...others here may help you with that...but it could be just the answer to your problem of wanting to keep your car to tow with.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
Cheers. Pam.

i had a look today at a little camper trailer unit,
while id love a proper campervan i think they will always be out of my price range and even tho this is still quite a price i think would be worth it for me , something that my little car could tow, and i wouldnt have to worry about packing up a canvas unit every night , i know some might say its small which it is but i can sit in it just fine and its nice and insulated ,'
it has storage under the bed, a couple of 240 power points
its got wind out windows with screens and a ventilater, fan thingy..
i quite like it, on the $10k mark , i can live with that , and its around 350kgs which i like, just a dream , theres some news i want to say about the tardis but have to leave that for a bit.. but will tell you... not my doing but dads...
if you get the idea pm me...
i guess later on i could add a solar panel and duel battery to it if i want to camp when no power spots are available
any way just an idea which i think will suite me..
Hi milo, have a look at the Avan "Sportliner" before you make any decisions. A few of us on here have one and think they are great and your car would tow it with no problems. The "Sportliner" has all the "Weekender" has plus more i.e. stove, sink and micro. If you can get one second hand it might even have some extras. As I said on another post to you, it only takes 30 seconds to put up or down.
Good luck with it all.

I agree with Dougwe, on this one Milo, I really think you will find the weekender to small and only suitable for an overnighter, the 'sportliner' is a lot better for room, and pretty well equiped, You do not need a new one, just one that is in good condition, and most of them are as they are small and easy to maintain, --- don't rush ???? ---- dazren
dazren, thats good advice, don't rush in milo, wait for the unit to come to you, if you jump in now a better unit and more suitable one will pop it's head up next week.
Milo, you will find the Avan weekender to be too small to live with for too long, look a big longer and check out the Avan sportliner as previously suggested. Don't forget it will sometimes be wet and there will be little you can do inside the weekender - and you can't cook or make coffee or milo outside in the rain. You need to have at least a small amount of living space.

My tug (Toyota Prado) is hungry and likes the gas at any time, I have gas/petrol. It tends to use a little extra gas when the Avan Camper is on the back but a different car might be ok. Before the Prado I had a Falcon Sedan and found not a lot of difference with or without the camper.
Let me know if you find Pakenham a bit unhelpful and I will have a chat to them as I have recommended them a lot but will stop if there is a problem with their customer service now.

If you are looking for a small van, have a look at what can be towed behind a motorbike. There are a lot of small vans that are towed behind larger bikes and very small cars.
I love the weekender, but I also love teardrops trailers. Hard to get in out of the rain though. Good to sleep, cook etc but not to sit and eat in bad weather.
