Well we have sold the Bago and gone for a Jayco Outback.. gotta say I much prefer to drive the new Ford Ranger than a mini truck!

For the first big trip we're packing up and heading for Lake Eyre again.. Has anyone been up there this year?? I'm looking to do my flight with the crew at Aus Air Services again.. we flew with them last year and loved it!

Just after info on the Lake? Has it got water? Birds? Is the Punt running again this year? And what are the roads like now?  I`m hearing Aus Air now fly from Marree.. Can anyone confirm this? If that's the case I might even brave the dirt road and fly from there!

Also after a reliable petrol generator to travel with.. anyone got any recommendations? I've heard the Honda EU20i is the go??

Thanks guys! biggrin

On the genni depends what you want to run. If it is the aircon and microwave etc then you need the 3 kva but if jsutfor charging and small items then look at the 1 kva.

best to take the rig to the shop and ask to run your items on the generator before you purchase as some do and some dont run some items.

Make sure if aircon it runs through the cycles where it shuts down and then restarts the compressor as the later starts are the heavy power users not the first one.

Many of the new genni's are the same manufacture just different badges, some made in Korea and some in China.

Hope you enjoy your first trip.

Regards
Brian

We have the  Honda eu20i  and it runs the  Ibis  air con in our van all right  but beware of some of the ebay  cheaper  brands as they are over rating the outputs of them. when you complain they send out a bigger model to replace it  ie a 3kva for a 2kva.

Thanks for the info on the geni's.. definately will go for genuine Honda. I have heard disaster stories about the eBay cheapies!

Getting back to Lake Eyre, thanks Peter and Marg for that link.. All the information I would ever need there! After a bit more reseach I found that Aus Air are at Marree and Lyndhurst. I shall report back when we go for our flight again, this time hopefully get some pics uploaded!

Safe Travels all! smile

So we've decided we're heading to the in the next week or so. Has anyone been up to Lake Eyre yet?? The Lake Eyre Yacht club site is great but no real 1st hand info!

Geni has been purchased, paid the extra and went for the Honda! Also, have booked our Lake Eyre flight with Aus Air Services at Lyndhurst (I see they have now advertised on here!) but should we take the Coopers flight or just stick with the Lake.. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks
