ford transit motorhome


hi all i am looking at buying a ford transit motorhome 2006 model it has done 223.000 ks i have racq check done and it comes up with a few oil leaks here and there which the dealer says he will fix up when he gets the roadworthy done there was suggested extended warranty (premium warranties australia) any advise on any of the above would be appreciated thanks glenn

ps it will be doing the lap

suggest you negotiate with dealer about paying for 3 year warrenty, oh and check what you have to do to keep it valid. Note that these vehicles are classed as commercial so different warrenty rules some times can apply. Ask the questions.

Agree with Rosey. A lot of kms for a six year old vehicle.

And you may have a fight to get them to fix the oil leaks properly without doing a dodgy.

After my experience with Myrtle I would be suggesting those oil leaks may lead to something much more. Very high mileage for such a late model vehicle as the others have said.

i am a motor vehicle wholesaler just be very very wary and dont spend your super fixing oil leaks on a transit.(i am not trying to sell you anything this is 28yrs of experience talking)

well I use to drive them all over Australia at one time, nothing but trouble oil leakes or turbo trouble, would not have one if you gave it too me sorry, yes buy a merc. )

As a retired Ford mechanic, Transit diesels at that milage i wouldnt touch it with a barge pole. They were bad enough at low Ks.
