Back home after 9 days at beef week at Rockhampton Qld. People camped every where in the camp. All very nice and friendly. Well set up for so many campers and equipment.
My brother exhibited 5 of his Charolais cattle and ended up with a first and two third placings.
So many caravaners on the roads heading in all directions.
I saw it on Landline today Bear. Love cattle, being brought up on a farm. I was amazed at the new breeds now. Some a combination of 4 or 5 different breeds to make a better composite.
Some of our little shows suffer when it's Beef week unfortunately. We were at one last week and there were very few stud cattle there due to many being taken to Beef Week. I hope they won good prizes there though. I don't blame them. They have to make a living - usually three families from it too.
I have Beef week every day, we are calving atm so on our toes.
Would love to get up to have a look. I used to run a small herd of the Charolais, but they were to big for my small facilities so now run Black Angus and a couple of ring ins.
