Everybody is heading North !!!

It's starting to get lonely down here in Victoria.

Our days are filled with seeing people before they head off North or West.

We have to wait for the new van and will head off in the second week of July.

Stood outside Bunnings yesterday and did my usual big Sigh as yet 2 more vans headed down the highway.

At least we will have missed the rush.  smilesmilesmilesmile

Hmmm... We'll be back in Canberra tomorrow. Just checked the weather forecast for ACT tonight. -4 degrees. eyepopping.gif

We have just had our last teeshirt and shorts walk on the beach for this trip, currently at Norah Head, just North of Gosford. Its beautiful here.

All of you going North and complaining about the crowds and high prices, would you like to swap?biggrin Please?

We travelled home to central Vic over the last 2 days from Port Hughes and there were caravans constantly passing us. Yes the pilgrimage has begun. Lots of energetic waves. Hope you all have a wonderful time.

I am with you Robyn & Ted only I will possibly be the last person left in Melbourne. I also see plenty of hired motorhomes heading out on the highway.......I just keep dreaming and planning and I know my day will come...

Wish you would all stay home or go elsewere and let other states have a go at finding a nice spot in Qld. You know the prices of van parks all go up this time of year to cater for you Victorians. Visited my sister in Qld 2 years ago and proceeded to Bundaberg. Not to bad going up but comeing back could not do much better than 1 night stays. Would love to try again but I will wait untill you lot vacate. So I might head west of NSW instead . Please dont tell me your heading their as well! no

Dick.

Had a phone call from a reli in Alice Springs this morning.

She was happy that it hadn't reached zero last night like it had the night before.  She puts her vegetables to bed each night.

Thankfully, according to her, Winter only lasts 6 weeks. So it should be beautiful by the time we get there.!!  smilesmilesmilesmile

Well just as well we don't mind the cold - we must be one of the few heading for south SA instead of heading north. CP is full again tonight with all those heading north.

That's right Chris, rub it in.

I'm heading North on Saturday too. Only problem is, it's only as far as Echuca. That will do me anyway, better than nothing. I love Echuca.

Don't forget to call in for a cuppa and a chat if you're heading into Adelaide. You drive right past "my place". PM me.
I headed west to the border and back again this week, and there is a constant convoy of caravans and camping gear heading in both directions, and north towards the Strezlecki and Birdsville Tracks and Lake Eyre.
The nights were were really cold but the days were balmy.
I have a head cold so I swapped camping for motels to avoid getting worse. Sniff!

Ahh I remember the days Gerty. I lived in Burra (NSW) outside Canberra for 25 yrs. when I first movd to Melbourne everyone was complaining about the cold. When I asked had it hit -12 yet and did they have to have a shower at work because the water pipes were frozen at home they thought I was crazy for living there so long. If it had not been so beautiful in those days I would have to agree with them. It's all very different now though, everything changed BUT THE COLD !!!!! Canberras saving grace is its beautiful sunny days. Maybe crisp but it is bright and sunny most days through winter. Rug up..

Thanks Tess
We arrived home this arvo, and Canberra was very welcoming... beautiful sunny day, great view as we approached the city of the Telstra tower with the mountains in the background, and everywhere, bright coloured autumn leaves. Glad to be home!

We stopped overnight in a free camping spot past Gundagia, minus one overnight.

Today, a glorious 24 degrees as we migrated further north.

Overnighting in Coffs Harbour.

Glad to be away from the Southern winter.

Nope, Barina,  I think we will be the last to leave Vic on or about 8th or 9th Aug when the wife finishes all her Dr's appointments and our house settlement which is 3rd Aug - but at the moment we are still selling things we haven't used in years, making piles and then cullen that pile, gee its hard. Anyway hope to still catchup with some nomads in our travells north.
